Wrong. All banks r so afraid of Bank Negara/ gamen.
When I had issue with a foreign bank with one CC fraud, they were so rude and loud to me. I returned the card but card lost in mail and the fraud took place. They were so rude and said sue here and there. When I wrote to Bank N, to explain, the BN oficer just drop a note  and the CC ppl become so polite back.

At last, how was your case settled?

When you want to cancel off, you did not cut your card into halve before mail back?

It seems to me they are relying mostly on these to survive in this competitive industry nowadays. I mean just look at their branch. It is outdated and most branches have only one ATM. This is not all. Most Hong Leong Bank branches also do not have any cash deposit terminal and cheque deposit machine. It makes banking with them extra painful. There is also hardly any customer in their branch even though most transactions would still need to be done over the counter at any Hong Leong Bank branches due to the absence of self-service machines.

I hope Public Bank will one day swallow them alive and make sure they only select existing Hong Leong Bank staff that are up to Public Bank standard  laugh.gif
*
Yes, it is true... one of the branch here has only 1 CDM and 1 ATM in which the CDM is located inside the bank. So, you can't perform cash deposit after banking hours. WTF!

If you have a banking account (savings, current, etc) with Citibank, your card should be added automatically.  If you only have credit cards with Citibank, you need to create a new Citibank Online account for each card.  I have experienced this personally and also confirmed by CS.

Like you guys, it's time for me to decide which cards to cut and which to keep.
1)  CIMB Gold Master (kept for retail promo) - cut
2)  Citibank Gold Master - cut
3)  Citibank Giant Master - cut
4)  SCB Business Platinum Visa - cut
5)  SCB JustOne Master - keep
6)  Public Bank Visa (came with car loan) - cut
7)  Public Bank Esso Visa - keep
8)  HSBC Gold Visa (kept for retail promo) - cut
9)  HSBC Gold Master (kept for retail promo) - cut
10)  Alliance Platinum Visa - keep

I liked the HSBC cards.  Got some gifts during approval, my first 2 birthdays with them, and some various free gifts during promotions.  But their points ain't evergreen sad.gif

So I guess it's RM50x3 per year for me to keep my cards... ouch...

Wow, good credit card portfolio. Let me compile mine:

1) Maybank Gold Master - Cut
2) Maybank Platinum Master - Keep
3) Citibank Gold Visa - Keep or cut?
4) Citibank Silver Master - Cut
5) Eon Platinum Master - Keep or cut?
6) Eon Gold Visa - Cut
7) UOB Platinum Preferred Visa - Cut
8) Ambank Platinum Master - Keep or cut?
9) Ambank Realrewards Master - Cut
10) Amex Gold charge card - ?
11) Amex Gold credit card - Keep
12) RHB - Cut all
13) HLB - Cut all
14) CIMB Gold Master - Cut

Usually will take 1-3 weeks.

Anyway, any banks has made announcement that they will or will not waive the service tax except for UOB which has announced that will not waive?

I don't think all banks will reimburse the service tax. Even if some banks are willing to absorb the cost, it is time for cardholders to seriously consolidate their CCs.
*
It is true. The time to consolidate the CCs.

Guys,I have a question for credit card.

I got 1 credit card and I use it to do installment plan for my laptop. Every month I have to pay RM 255 for the laptop and of course the balance I have to clear. My balance for the installment plan to clear is RM 1,810 and I got extra money and I can pay up all in the same month, will the bank charge me anything for settle the installment amount early ? huh.gif

Any sifu please help notworthy.gif
*
Is your instalment amount debited to your credit card account monthly? If yes, you can't pay off all since you will get credit balance or some banks do not allow to pay more than what it is owed.

If no, then you have to ask your bank about the early settlement.

Well .. I'm not sure , that time I was doing installment right,I got around 6k credit limit then after do it .. I only can use the balance .. cannot swipe more than 3k,lol..

You can see your cc statement whether suck the instalment is posted monthly or there is lump sum of balance b/f every month.

I believe is posted monthly. Thus, you can't settle one time off.

Wow! This SCB JustOne package (credit card/current account) is better than my expectations. I've just only found out that the current account pays high interest! Check out my blog on savings interest rates surprises. I'm going to shift most of my savings into this current account.

Probably you didn't notice that AmBank Amstar gives higher interest than SBC Just one C/A

I did a calculation and agree that Amstar current account pays higher interest than JustOne. But don't forget that the balances in JustOne earns Choice Points as well, which can be used to redeem gifts brows.gif
Is SCB Just ONe current account based on tier interest basis? If yes, then AmBank Amstar gives higher interest than JustOne as it is not on tier. Once you have reached that required balance, the whole balance is entitling the interest rate. Unlike JustOne that is based on tier.

And AmStar gives 5 times IBG online transfer each month in which worth RM10 a month and 5 times free withdrawals from any MEPs ATM networks which worth of RM10 a month as well.

I decided to maintain UOB Preferred Platinum VISA and to cut Citibank Gold Visa since UOB offers rebate of RM50 if we need to spend a minimum of RM100 transaction for 3 transactions within 14 days.
