QUOTE(prasys @ Jan 29 2010, 03:46 PM) "agents" , well if you can convinced some one in the higher authoriity to do it , it will be 5120kbps. Its simple as that. they put me in 4096kbps , I was pissed cause i was getting 2.8mbps , it did not even reach 3mbps. So after talking to some folks , well its 5120Kbps. I dont think they are going to download cause I've said to them. I dont abuse your connection 24/7 by downloading large files , or torrenting 24/7 ;P this is what my contractor told me regarding my problem, he said he ask tm's technician that fiber line got problem and it's currently repaired, that's why can't get 4mbps, so he instructed me to contact him next monday if the problem remains, so is what my contractor said is true? Then call em , get it capped to 4096kbps at least first. Post your Modem DSL Status |

Hi...just installed my 4Mb...tried it out for a few days, been downloading at average speeds of 430Kb/s...I check its 115 ip..
Well, can't say its consistent, sometimes even worst than my previous 2Mb line. Should I go for Premium IP?...I don't do online gaming or use youtube...primary for download only. |

QUOTE(azbro @ Feb 1 2010, 03:49 PM) Hi...just installed my 4Mb...tried it out for a few days, been downloading at average speeds of 430Kb/s...I check its 115 ip.. 218.*.*.* have bad routing to Europe located server..but the connection to US is ok..Can reach 500kbps ++..Well, can't say its consistent, sometimes even worst than my previous 2Mb line. Should I go for Premium IP?...I don't do online gaming or use youtube...primary for download only. For the time being, it is advisable to stay with ur current ip (115) because there is report that 115 give decent download speed for 4mbps user as it routing is good.. I have compared my download speed with MX510. We both download from the same server, but with different ip. He use 115, while I'm in 218..He got decent download speed compared to me.. (rarely reach 300kbps for Europe server).. |

I need some advice for modems.
Before the 4Mbps upgrade, I've been happily using Linksys WAG200G without a problem. After my line was upgraded to 4Mbps, it couldn't connect (Internet LED is red). Tried with my old Aztech DSL600W brings the same result. I even tried upgrading the firmware and change to RouterTech FW, but no result. As last resort, I tried the Riger D108 that came with the package, but can't even get to the configure page. When connecting to 192.168.1.1, it only show " < " and nothing else. Called up the technician, they came surprisingly they can configure it with their laptop. Now I'm stuck with their pre-set SSID and WEP as I can't access the gateway page. Is there a solution to this or should I get another modem? If I should, which modem (preferably router + AP combo) should be compatible with 4Mbps line ? |
