Dude, worth to try this? I'm thinking about this plan too. Will it capped like what the normal 1Mb or 2Mb plan??

So far no problem not using the so call premium fakap ip

I'm bored. already 10 days and my connection is still capped at 1mbps. The technician promisd to do it today but nothing changed . Guess I've to keep calling them and file complaints to make them work.

What modem do you guys use with 4mb line ?
Only the Riger works for me but frequent disconnection, have to restart the modem.

I tried to subscribe to 4mbps ages ago, but was told my area can't support it. But my dad just got a call saying someone will come to my house at 6pm later today. Checked at https://mips.tm.net.my/SelfCare/CheckUpgrad...130&verify=true saw it's being processed while before it shows not applicable or something. Crap!

If I subscribed to the 4mb line, will I be able to upgrade to HSBB later on or do I have to stay with 4mbps for 12-24 months contract?

Have to wait for two days huh? Do they usually able to meet that promise or am I suppose to tear my hair out next tuesday night calling them non stop?

Are these good? Or should I call them up asking for more? What's the speed I should get for 4mbps?

That's the highest I could reach with my 4mpbs too, which they mentioned when I called to their hotline is within acceptable speeds

Weird..when using my linksys wag200g modem/router the DSL can only cap the download to 2920-3200kbps..so from speedtest I can only get no more than 3mbps...no problem with streamyx provided modem/router (Riger)..i can get 4096..anybody faced that??

my speed is finally capped at 4096 512 but there is no difference betweeen 1024 512 and 4096 512 for me.



My connection to US sites are within 0.09mbps - 0.15mbps
Rapidshare, windows live mail download, youtube, tudou, hotfile, megaupload, all dl speed about 5KB/s - 25KB/s.

My cousin who is subscribing to 512kbps package managed to achieve 60KB/s easily in websites mentioned above. So what's wrong here? My intuition tells me that my line is throttled. it has been happening for 5 years.

Is it possible for me to downgrade my package or even unsubscribe it since I don't get the speed as advertised? It's 11th day since subscribed to 4mbps combo package. I just got my line capped at 4096 512 today.

Your line can cap for 4mb now but not your id..you have to wait for at least 24 hours after they activated your streamyx id..

It's alreayd the 11th day since my line is activated.

I could get 398 KB/s when I download something from streamyx.com
For other websites I manage to obtain 100kb/s - 200kb/s, not even 40% of 4mbps.

For youtube, rapidshare, megaupload, hotfile and various other, I got constant 5 KB/s - 20 KB/s. I don't know what's wrong, my cousin who subscribed to 512kbps package can download faster than I do in these websites.

From P1 speedometer,

Download Speed : 1680kbps (210 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed : 337 kbps (42.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency : 41

Should I downgrade to 2mbps since I always get speed of that range? Don't bother about youtube rapidshare, they are always within 1KB/s - 15KB/s for me in the past 6 years. I don't know why my friends and relatives don't have this problem.

This model is known to have issues with Streamyx, thats why you are getting issues with it.
With this modem+router, my SNR margin would drop to crazily low levels. Probably thats what causing your intermittent sync or something like that.
