Your friend lied, you can see plainly that he is pulling the whole time.

Teach him how to spot properly or get another spotter.
Something is troubling me here, you look so cut in the picture but in the vid even when you are pushing I can't see the definition.

chill bro, if you can bench that much its good. If the spotter was merely there for a mental boost, then by all means its fine. No point justifying your bench figures or whatsoever because it ain't going to happen. Train safe

you look kinda small to lift that much for bench press, but i dont do that..it'll just wreck my joints...but then even when I train i'll only ask the spotter to help me for my last 2 reps for forced rep...but not for the whole set...

btw who does bench presses nowadays?

INCLINE BABY!
*
i asked him to help me for the whole set coz my elbows r nt strong enuf to support me tat much, just asked him to follow me when i was benching coz i might dislocate my elbow joint...

btw, i do both incline and normal bench press..

Overall I think this turned out to be amazingly embarrassing for Adamemo, eh? You claimed to have a gigantic Internet penis and now everyone knows you're actually hung like a toothpick.

Quite frankly, you'd probably have gotten a more receptive response if you'd been upfront about the actual limits of your strength.  Chalk this one up as a life lesson, move on, and let it die down.

I got tricep tendonitis about 3 months ago from benching. Did some homework and discovered my form sucked.
Lifting a little less now but benching isn't exctly bread and butter to me anymore.

You are strong, you have the size. Just go on a cutting cycle and you'll look really good. Overall I'm very impressed by a lot of the progress most of the regulars made during my absence. Keep it up y'all.

You don't need to bench that much to get big. Do it Milos Sarcev's style. Elbows flared out 90 degrees and focus on contraction. According to Terry, Tom Price's chest used to be his weakest bodypart but once he went to Milos for help, his chest became one of his best bodyparts and he was using very low poundages. Bodybuilding is and always will be about feel and instinct. Listen to your body. You can get huge benching just 60 kgs. Terry benches less than me for your info, he dumbell shoulder presses less than me but in no way is he weak. He can do much heavier but he knows his body inside out. That's what separates a professional bodybuilder from an amateur, trust me.

Obviously I would love benching 3 big plates per side but if you use all leg drive, arched back, you take focus away from your chest. Besides EMG studies have already proven that the flat barbell bench press hits your pectoral muscles the least compared to the decline bench. Unless one knows how to execute the form perfectly, it becomes mostly an ego exercise.

haha... i know bro. =.=
just being sarcastic here. but oh well, thank goodness i dont have huge ego.
i bench baby weights, enough for my chest to get the full pump. better have a good rep than a poor form. its all bout the muscle contraction.
hehe...
cant wait to train with u again someday. hahahah

dalam video looks small but he's cut so cant really judge based on quality of vid
according to milo sarcev, incline is the focus but i dont see no reason to quit bench pressing flat
i rarely do decline though cuz i love dipping more (excuse je actually my gym got no decline bench)
haha

the best statement so far
instinctive training...but sometimes i do see people tend to stay in their comfort zone using this excuse
tongue.gif

on the context of the vid, watching a lot of people in groups doing bb'ing (imagine 5-6 people waiting in queues to bench press on the same bench), the way they support is just like the one in the vid
my spotter usually supports me in way where he puts his index fingers only shoulder width on the bar just to help me balance
but long time never train with buddy, now alone and focus on cardio
and i hate barbell benches, im more into 5-6 sets of dumbbells benches (eccentric focused)

I don't salute idiots bro. Some more give that cocky grin at the end of the video thinking that he proved something. Sheesh.

You know when someone tells me how much he can press, I ask him how many times can he repeat the movement. Anyway, another way to spot is to pretend you're helping him spot with maximal effort, sometimes grunting to show you're helping him left but you're not doing anything at all. Then after he's done the set you can tell him it was all him. The look on my partner's face would be priceless. Sometimes it's a matter of confidence y'know.

perhaps ur right on the first point
i just watched the vid and glanced thru the comments

the second point relates more on psychological effects of training with spotters
they are supposed to look at ur form and tolong if items almost jatuh or balance dah lari
not pegang the thing and let them do barbell curls while u do bench presses

Sorry la, maybe i can get a guest pass at FF next week. Actually i don't get it, when someone bench press why must they hold the middle of the barbel? I mean, the main aim is for the barbell to touch the chest and the knuckles just get in the way. Sometimes i feel like when i spot for people it's like doing barbell rows.

If you do this, give them a fake number or you'll be getting telemarketing calls for MONTHS.
