Is there even a Nike running shoe tht retails for 500+ ? The new Lunarglide+ is RM399, the old Lunar Trainer is also around tht price. Dunno about Lunar racer. For 500 bucks, I can get myself two pairs of Mizunos, one trainer & one racer (Wave Ronin)..

Well, everybody's got their own preference... rclxms.gif

Used to have a pair of running shoes but not anymore - and yeah, just using this one to run so far. Not good?
*
Well, I would say the pair your using is defnitely nt suitable for running..that could be the coz of ur knee pain?
insufficient cushioning..

QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ Aug 8 2009, 11:51 AM)
Nike is good. Comfy+odourless. Grab the RM500++ ones. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Regards, Joey
*
Besides Nike, there are lotsa shoes out there better then it.. comfy? nt unless ur 100% sure of ur feet type? odorless? i doubt if that is a guarantee..
And of course no one goes straight out and purchase a RM500 pair of nikes for running because if research was performed, one would rather opt for asics or as ccube recomended; newton

QUOTE(tenno @ Aug 8 2009, 12:02 PM)
Nike ? RM500+ ?

U're new here, aren't U ?

I think that goes without saying..

The high end nike shoes for cross training purposes which is the zoom vomero 4 cost around 470-490, theres no known shoe from nike that cost more than 500 unless your talking about basketball shoes, they can go around 1000++.

if talks about Asics running shoe which cost more than RM500++, then it's consider normal.

For those who have worn a variety of shoes, how do u guys compare it to brands such as say saucony, adidas, or even premium brands such as asics?

Nike Start + Zoom? hmm.gif suitable for distances up to 20km LSDs? I would hv thought this pair leaned more towards the light weight trainer category..

Theres only one that i know of which is the gel kinsei and it was a failure because they put to much technology into it that made it weighy, there are mixed reviews about the kayano 15 and it cost less than 500 as well.

I really want to try out saucony and brooks, got to stop looking into a those very well hyped branded "whats in a name" shoes.

when i started running at a young age of 22, i tried the following:

1) NB was intro to me as the brand for running. wore it and to me it was just average. nothing exciting.
2) Stumbled on Saucony, and immediately it made an impression on me. And since then have always been my 1st choice. The models are light, comfy yet not bulky.
3) Since dumping NB, i explore with Nike Air (Air Max during that time) Brooks, Adidas, Etonic, Runbird and Asics as a second option. Asics came out the best in terms of fittings, performance, comfy and price.
4) Nike failed me miserable after numerous models (i just cannot believe it until my coach tell me to forget abt it)
5) Finally i narrowed down to Saucony and Asics as my running buddy. I did both my PB in 21k and 42k with a pair of Saucony and till today that pair of shoe is still with me.
6) And now i end up selling Saucony, bcos I believe it will perform and definitely with a competitive price in mind.

But at the end of the day, its still a personal preference.

Hey guys, i'm new to running but lately i kept getting same injuries around the shin and heel and finally decided to buy a pair of decent running shoes.

Was using BATA (Buy And Throw Away!), then all the pain came up after jogging for days continuously. So now i just bought a pair of Asics GT 2120 without even considering the other brands since i'm still new to running itself. i can only jog a maximum of 2.2km in one go then need to rest.

Also when i was testing other shoes like adidas, nike, i didnt quite like it due to the fitting. At that time i didnt know what Asics is, but i just tried on since the pricing was more expensive than nike and adidas range, i thought there maybe reasons for it.

The first try it fits perfectly except for the arch support that i find irritating. then i consult the shop assistant that my arch hurts, and he told me its normal since it acts as a support. so i tried walking around and realized i dont feel much pressure on my shins, ball of foot and heel.

Feel free to comment, advice will be much appreciated. thanks!

check your foot type mate, GT 2120 are for support and cushioning, its mainly for runners who under-pronate, the feet type is associated with this are flat to mild flat..

so get the assistant to to a foot test for you...of if not do a wet feet test and post the pictures here, we'll be able to advise what type of feet you have..

this again show u new in running too.  tongue.gif

normally people runs on early morning, lets say 6.30am for 10km o 20km.

some even start at 5.45am for 20km which they plan to run slow.

the reason is to avoid the hot sun later...

Msian whether is HOT all round the year, meaning u rather stay at home?

Pretty much all the time. Maybe I'll change my running time from PM to AM.

Yes there is. It's from the Max Air range. I didn't regret getting the NIKE running shoes. Feels different even while yu are walking with it.

Before I bought my Adidas Shamiso (RM169), I tried on Asiss Kayano, feel good but pricey, and some old models of Asics(totally can not fit my feet althugh the sixe is correct).
Nike is a bit more expensive and I do not try it...
Plan cheaper Mizuno but do not want japan goods...

I think my seocnd shoe will be Saucony, or Brooks (The Curve)...Newton when I rich enough...

I used to own an Air Max and I'd say that it's good for 10k or less. After 10k, they tend to lose the cushyness advantage and will just be dead weight. Nice to walk it but will also lose bounciness after 6 months or so. I used to walk, run, gym with it everytime. Cost of replacement was high. As long as you're comfortable with it as a starters shoes - that's good enough. For serious running, you may want to consider a Pegasus (if u like Nike so much)

Hmmm...can be considered. I've heard that they mentioned Saucony (Did I get the name right?)...looks promising. Never tried before. Do they have stocks over RSH?

I might be dropping by there and do some bits of survey.
