using the asics gel 150-tr, my first pair of expensive shoes XD
bought the gel kayano 15 for my brother, f***ing expensive ><" tried it on, very comfy, lol.

probably gonna go for saucony or brooks for my next shoe, saucony can get for bout 70-100 aud here. how much is it in msia?
*
wat i am selling its definitely cheaper than u pay in AUD. Triumph 6 is selling at RM320, just goto any Oz sport shops and do a comparison. But ASICS is the top brand in Oz, no doubt abt it. The Aussie had the buying power to pay a premium.

@madfag

I'm a not-very-serious and non-competitive runner. I usually swim the day before. Eat whatever served in my house, only to avoid spicy ones.

You may want to hear from the otai(s).

Honestly, its very subjective..
Some rest, some do a short run.. it oso depends on what u hv been doing for the past 1 week..but i m sure the nite b4 most do carbo load

Personally, i cut my distances a little during competition week.. i sometimes cycle/ run/ both the day before..

If you read up on material over the internet, sum pros talk abt cutting distances by half the whole week, nt running the last 2 days..
Lotsa methods realli..

yay! another satisfied Asics user!  tongue.gif

do remember this Asics takes sometime to break into, due to its cushioning and support it needs to mould according to your feet and of course you need to get used to it as well,

so if you feel slight aches on your foot during the first few runs its probably due to your shoe where the cushioning is still hard, my Asics took at least about 50KM to break into after that fantastic,

using Brooks as my trainer pairs though
*
haha, cool. I'm already getting used to mine and only reaching 10km. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(ccube @ Aug 11 2009, 01:59 PM)
sometimes during sales like in Istean, u can get some good discount on older ASICS model (if u dont mind its one or two season behind, ie shoes that are mfg 1.5 to 2 yrs ago)  I got the GT2110 and 2120 at ard RM200 and still using them for shorter runs.
*
yup, got mine from Isetan just few days ago. So happened i was in kl and the 3 day mega sales was on. Got my GT2120 for rm279. LOL brows.gif
i saw Asics rack that range from 499-799 i avoid that place straight away shocking.gif . hahaha

Folks, as we all know, some members here belong to some runners/athletic clubs like PACM, Pacemakers, etc. I've started a poll here, just to see how many of us actually belong to those clubs. Maybe we can start one of our own. Thanks for your participation.

Hmm.. actually, I'm not a member of any club either. So, I just wanted to see how many of us are in the same boat.

From what I heard, a bunch of us here met up during the Men's Health run last month. Maybe we can have our vests printed out or something. Just a thought. Thanks for Ur comment. rclxms.gif

oh. have to prepare starting a week before? im not really a regular runner. so i dont do practice runs every week, at least 1 or more times a week depending on my work schedule. i was thinking that you guys might have some tips on proper preparation a day before races. my first two races, i did not really prepare, i didnt care about my food intake and also only a few hours of sleep.

Considering you don't even run regularly, I would say all you have to do is sleep at least 8 hrs and eat lots for dinner the day before..
