Hey guys, i'm new to running but lately i kept getting same injuries around the shin and heel and finally decided to buy a pair of decent running shoes.

Was using BATA (Buy And Throw Away!), then all the pain came up after jogging for days continuously. So now i just bought a pair of Asics GT 2120 without even considering the other brands since i'm still new to running itself. i can only jog a maximum of 2.2km in one go then need to rest.

Also when i was testing other shoes like adidas, nike, i didnt quite like it due to the fitting. At that time i didnt know what Asics is, but i just tried on since the pricing was more expensive than nike and adidas range, i thought there maybe reasons for it.

The first try it fits perfectly except for the arch support that i find irritating. then i consult the shop assistant that my arch hurts, and he told me its normal since it acts as a support. so i tried walking around and realized i dont feel much pressure on my shins, ball of foot and heel.

Feel free to comment, advice will be much appreciated. thanks!

check your foot type mate, GT 2120 are for support and cushioning, its mainly for runners who under-pronate, the feet type is associated with this are flat to mild flat..

so get the assistant to to a foot test for you...of if not do a wet feet test and post the pictures here, we'll be able to advise what type of feet you have..

ya, i got them to check for me. they said mine is flat to normal. more on flat.

anyhow since i already bought the shoes i didnt regret a bit cause i feel so comfortable the whole day walking around college without feeling discomfort. icon_idea.gif

yay! another satisfied Asics user!  tongue.gif

do remember this Asics takes sometime to break into, due to its cushioning and support it needs to mould according to your feet and of course you need to get used to it as well,

so if you feel slight aches on your foot during the first few runs its probably due to your shoe where the cushioning is still hard, my Asics took at least about 50KM to break into after that fantastic,

using Brooks as my trainer pairs though

haha, cool. I'm already getting used to mine and only reaching 10km. icon_rolleyes.gif

sometimes during sales like in Istean, u can get some good discount on older ASICS model (if u dont mind its one or two season behind, ie shoes that are mfg 1.5 to 2 yrs ago)  I got the GT2110 and 2120 at ard RM200 and still using them for shorter runs.
