Sorted out my problem with the VERY helpful people in Maxis Gardens. They will call me asap as soon as the next available 32gb black will be available and reserve one for me...... either at hello station or at gardens.

So, should be hearing a call from them tomorrow.

I received no such information about switching plans from them (Machines 1U) other than the stocks have been delayed. Care to elaborate what they told you? I'm sticking with prepaid plan, darn them if I have to commit myself to contracts because I'm only here in Malaysia for the next 2 months and then away.

Added on August 1, 2009, 1:19 amIt's true. I got a call from Machines @ 1U. This is probably for postpaid customers only, like me. I am on VP50 and they wanted to attached iData2 immediately to reduce wait time whenever my iPhone3GS 32GB Black arrives. If ever.

hey same thing for me..i supposed to collect my phone on friday..but i couldn't make it..so i gave maxis a call and told them bout it..and asked if i could get preference to set on saturday morning instead..it seems the lady at the call center called up the maxis center and told someone bout it..and then sent an email to inform them that ill be thr sat morning..and she called me back a few mins later and said it should be ok..and ill get my set

so id suggest u give em a call and tell them to reserve ur phone..it might just help..i was afraid that it would go out of stock..well, goin to the center first thing in the morning..hopefully i get it..i booked at cheras center though..

latest update from Machines 1U at 11.45pm, iPhone 32GB black has arrived. they had to send their own delivery people to pick up the stock directly from Brightstar. ready for collection tomorrow

but please call beforehand as they might distribute the available stock to those who came earlier today and did not get their phones.

I think I had enough of Maxis. Called them and insist I wanna speak to their manager incharge but their manager incharge is on the line now. Waiting for him to return my call before I goreng him until he promise me I'll get my phone first thing in the morning tomorrow.

I just finish my phone conversation with their manager incharged Mr. Eikuan and they say they are not the one supplying to Machines infact Apple is the one supplying the phone to Machines.
But what I heard from Machines, its Maxis who supplys the phone to them. Who am I suppose to believe in now?

I told them and they say they will check regarding this issue with Machines 1Utama. He said to me that he will clear up this matter with Machines and will get back to me personally tomorrow morning.

Told him I was told to collect my phone on 31st July 2-6pm from their CS but he said its a misunderstanding and its their fault.

Asked for a transfer for my deposit but he said its not possible because they are taking the units according to the number of deposits made in that particular shop. I insisted to do so and he told me it will only further delay the waiting because they have to put me under 'new orders' which I'll need to wait for the second batch.

He promised me the phone will arrive NOT later than 4th August.

TTDI is also in shortage of i3Gs 32gb as far as I've been told.

Only 32GB? How about 16GB black ... perhaps tomorrow morning should give them a call to confirm it.

No one talks about this sms or email. So, it means everyone who booked the phone will get this sms and email?

I got the sms today also but supposed to collect on 3rd Aug.

Also according to the maxis people, we have 14 days to collect the phone. And everyone who booked will definitely get it. Turns out now short of stock?? I am not really in a hurry. I would rather not spend few hours waiting in queue. I already waited like years for iphone to arrive here. Few more days can wait.

I got a call on Thursday saying my collection will be delayed until 4th Aug. But I just received an e-mail earlier tonight that I can collect it.

Should I believe the e-mail?

Anyone has news on Machines KLCC?

I am quite surprise about a couple of things.. .

1: no one seams to blog about this delay, maybe only me, or maybe the people who buy are not blogger, and no bloggers buy...

2: there seams to be many people who bought the 16GB model, why? for just a few hundred more you can get double the capacity....

3: Is maxis only getting a few hundred units of 32G or there are many thousands of people who purchase it?

Anyone who want an iPhone 3Gs but didnt not pre book their phone can go to Bukit Tinggi Klang. Yesterday the women called me and said that my iPhone is ready but I told her that I already booked with Machine(previously I told them to reserve for me if the Iphone arrived <---told them on JUNE) but I forgot about them and booked my iPhone at Machine KLCC. The iPhone is ready at BUKIT TINGGI KLANG AEON JUSCO. Kindly who want to buy th iPhone can just walk in..

p/s-yesterday there's one Arab man want to buy iPhone and he willing to pay more but Machine stock is limited. Still there's a guy who willing to pay more for the iPhone... well, he's Arabian. What can u say? I just lol.

more people including myself chose the 16GB. Reasons?

1. Cheaper. Its not a few hundred cheaper but RM500 cheaper
2. Extra space not utilized. Depending on your needs, some people do not feel they need to carry all their data with them. 32GB is a lot of space and so is 16GB. Unless you want to carry all your videos with you, 16GB is more than enough for my own usage.

Sounds logical to me... yet, there is a shortage of the 32G version... I think they just ordered less..

I booked my unit on 21/7 and paid on 24/7 and switch over from other telco on the same day and take up vp50.


for me, i got a sms on 30/7 evening around 6:43pm saying that stock delayed and can choose to collect after 1/8. then, later got an email about the delayed but to someone else name with his acc no. told my friend about it but his didnt get any sms or email at all. so,

that's made me called to maxis 123 and find out what went wrong... i guess everyone knows their stories.

later at around 9pm, i got a call from maxis but i was about to go into a lift and told him to call me back in 5 mins. guess wat, never got call me back. lousy service.

i went over the selayang center anyway on next morning, 31/7 just to check and see. found that really stock no there but i saw someone collecting his 16GB black version i think. staff there told me tomorrow only got and ask me want them to call me to inform and i said can also.

anyway, i never get any call or sms since then but i got an email around noon. a revised version of previous email. still the same stated can collect from 31/8 onwards. i think should be good news since no news. ok, time for me to try my luck. going over to my collection center now. got to make noise then if did get mine...

If you got an email to say that your iPhone has arrived and ready for collection? It just means that they've got a unit reserved for you. But you can't pick it up immediately. You need to wait for the assigned date which you've booked when you paid the deposit. Tried getting it early last night, but they didn't let me. Oh well, Sunday's just around the corner

So far, no email, no sms regarding the delay for me.. suppose to get this this morning..

I thought iPhone is unlocked in Malaysia so there isn't any need to unlock the baseband right? There have been early success on jb 3.0.1 using redsn0w. But I suggest wait a little longer for the update for those who want to jb.

Btw, I'm right in front of machine gardens now waiting to pickup my 32GB white. Seems that the stock arrive yesterday at machine.
