i just booked mine - 32GB White, iValue Plan 12 months (since I'm gonna be a port-in customer, not eligible for 24 mths!) and gonna be able to collect it by 31st July (another 15 days!!)

some says that its expensive but compared to previous launch, i think this time around maxis is doing better.

anyway, i'm trying to convince myself that it's worth it coz i'm sooo wanna get my hand on iPhone3GS (even more since i just got my mbp13!)

so here's how i see it (someone agree with me pls?)

currently i'm on digi prepaid, cost me only RM30 per mth (1 year = RM360).

jumping on maxis iValue Plan 1 for 12 months, i'll need to fork out RM100 per mth (1 year = RM1200).

over a year, digi prepaid vs maxis postpaid = RM840

based on the plan, i'm getting RM700 discount for the phone. so i'm actually paying additional RM140 only (RM840 - RM700 discount).

so, if i dun like maxis at the end of the 12th month, i can walked away (perhaps back to digi?) and actually paid RM140 more only?

ok.. i'm  myself but i guess i just wanna get my hand on it!

OMG I booked mine there. Hopefully by the 31st we would get a clarification on this.

Yeap it is five days from now which mean I will need to pay mine by the 20th as stated in the SMS.

hmm, anybody using a supp line manage to pre-book for iData plan?

i'm using a supp line, value plus family 30 (eligible for iData according to website), and tried pre-booking for iData, but when it comes to step 3, i cannot select iData. only the prepaid option is available.

i selected "No" for the question "would you like to upgrade to Maxis principle post paid line?" since i want to remain as supp line. when No is selected only prepaid option is available. only when Yes is selected, then iValue and Prepaid opens up. iData remains close all the while.

guys, i need help. i'm still dont know about the policy or wadever s*** thing about maxis.

1)i wanted to get the i3gs white. and i was thinking to ask my fren (which is using sup line family plan 50) to buy for me, which is under iData plan. so it means, i need to pay for original RM50 (for the family plan 50) and also iData2's RM50 = RM100/month? or i just need to pay only the iData's RM50 OR only the family plan 50's RM50? sorry if i'm confusing.

2)i wanted to book for the i3gs under iData but cannot. wonder why? if i book under my name, my number, my nric, and PREPAID PLAN, when the day i wanna collect the phone, can i bring my fren along which is using the family plan 50 sup line along and change to iData and buy for me under 1yr contract @ RM2090?

3)if i buy it under PREPAID PLAN at Machines KLCC (RM2490), can i also use the membership card to had some additional points? or the membership card is unavailable for iPhone purchase?
hope all the sifu or person which know well about this maxis pricing thinggie well help out abit. my brain is not for maths counting xD
           

Why when I book, the nearest date is 31/7? while some of you guys are collecting on the 24th?

hi, i'm addicted to iphone design and it's gorgeous, i'm interested to purchase the 32gb iphone 3gs through the prepaid plans but yet i intend to keep my existing digi line

The terms mentioned in the FAQ in http://www.maxis.com.my/iphone3gs/FAQ.pdf is kinda worrisome...
i'm totally clueles, so what are the potential problems that i might face by doing so?
(1) unable to access appstore?
(2) phone might not function as normal?

i plan to sign up for digi's unlimited data plan when i got the iphone, anyone can comment on this?

Say, for those who have booked at Machines, do you guys get to claim points when you purchase the phone from them?

I thought the Maxis online booking will restrict the number of people booking each time slot at each outlet? If that restriction is in place, then Maxis & Machines should have sufficient stocks for each time slot.
Unless of course there are people who booked the collection date as 1st Aug but decide to collect on 31st July - would Maxis or Machines entertain such people? Hopefully not otherwise there'll be mad rush of first come first serve on 31st July and this will also defeat the purpose of choosing your date, time and venue of collection when booking.

I will be very disappointed if the system goes that way. It means money is their concern. I think it would be more fair if the queue is run by serial number. Whether you pay first or not, as long as you book first then you are in the queue. Guess we will never know how it goes until the 31st sigh 

I paid the RM200 just now at Machines Garden.
My friend advise me to go Maxis coz they more clear about the plan and can be explain again plus Maxis should get more stock in than Machines.
But the Maxis girl ask me to go Machines to ask they can accept deposit or not first,
if can't only go back to them.
Machines also told me they might not get the stock on 31st/7
Anyway...just wait and see.

Just came back from MACHINES@1U. Paid my RM200 deposit cash and receive an official receipt. Did not bother to ask much but everything went well which cost less than 10 minutes.

What I do is just past him my email print out and fill in a form that he gave. If you guys are wondering why choose MACHINES, I can give you two good reason.

First of all you are entitle to be a member of MACHINES for free just because you buy the iPhone from them. Secondly you will get RM20 voucher upon purchasing. Wow no harm at all more over they have bunch of accessories and other Apple product.

yea, otherwise why do u think everyone is rushing to get their hands on this baby. Because there might be a shortage after the launch. I'm not surprised you'll see some stock on ebay selling up to RM4k.
