I'm gonna buy the phone outright. Do I need to activate the phone using the Maxis prepaid? Or can I just insert my Digi sim card straight off and activate?

@david101, ALL iPhones purchased via Maxis will need to be activated via a Maxis SIM. It will also be activated by Maxis personnel as they will need to key in your data for warranty issues.
Does activation affect any use of the iPhone after I switch to a non-Maxis mobile service provider? i.e itunes access and all.

QUOTE(teikwing @ Jul 25 2009, 02:17 AM) no. it won't. activating is merely a process to activate the phone to be used on a cellular network. since Maxis iPhone 3G/3GS is officially unlocked, you can use it on any telco. Thanks. Does this mean that I can terminate and toss away my Hotlink prepaid after I have activated the iPhone? I have absolutely no interest in the free data.

I received a call at 11pm last night saying that my collection will have to be delayed until 4th Aug. He was a bit dramatic, saying that there were "no stocks" at all in Malaysia. I let him go.. I figured he would probably have been blasted by consumers the whole night.
FYI, booked a black 32gb at Maxis Centre, Bukit Tinggi, Klang.

I got a call on Thursday saying my collection will be delayed until 4th Aug. But I just received an e-mail earlier tonight that I can collect it.
Should I believe the e-mail?
