By the way guys, CIMB Bank has introduced VISA Infinite yesterday. It will give cash rebate instead of point. 0.5% for local spending and 1% for overseas spending. This is nothing special really as it is identical to HSBC Amanah Platinum VISA.

I obtained the HLB Plat without applying for it. It was sent as an upgrade. I guess my 3 apartments in Penang loan were from HLB. After I paid all the mortages (melangsaikan hutang) for the partments, they still want to do business with me. From time they also send OD worth 20k and 30k for me, but I flushed them away.

Just now I went shopping at Queens Bay Mall, HSBC got promotion for VISA Infinite. What is the min quali for this card? I didn't have time to ask them.

I agree that one can be rob off with thier money. Penang is not a safe place.

For some getting the PLATINUM card is like getting a piece of nice meat in world war 2. So no matter what the credit limit is, I still will be happy. I do not require that much of money in life.

You seem to contradict yourself..... Best to call the bank to let them know of your whereabout in case you are using CC.

For people like you who are plat holder of course need to pay 800 p/a. Like we all, gold card free waiver where got fee. So no fee and free point. consider good olredi. But if you take direct flight, who care about Golden Lounge right? Unless you transit..

Just got my Amex bill with the RM800 AF reflected on the bill.  Looks like I need to call them and see if I can get a waiver or will have to just ask them to downgrade my account to a Gold card.

I used my AMEX Gold Credit Card for the first time on Sunday and today the points (2X) were already in my M2U. Damm fast.lah. Even though the AMEX Gold Credit Card earns MR and not TP, I noticed that it was combined with all the treats points from my other MBB credit cards. That being the case I dont see any differentiation between MR and TP (other than name) since we can use the total points (MR + TP) for redemption.

I cant believe that CIMB and SCB are allowing people to apply for Visa Infinite cards(higher than platinum). This card is usually given to private bank customers only by invitation. You have to deposit a min of 1 mil before u can become a private bank customer anyway. Their requirement is a bit on the low side as well.

Assuming you have a credit limit of RM10K. But for a certain purchase, you needed to spend RM30K on the card. So can you:

1. Paid into your credit card account RM20K and you can swipe RM30K on the card now?

I was told some overseas card do not allow that. What about Malaysia?

Any idea how much credit line one needs to have if applying using an existing credit card ? How about CIMB World Mastercard/CIMB VISA Infinite ? I tried to ask their staff at one of the CIMB Bank branches here and none of them have any clue. Please help
