So I'm doing a bit of research for fun in comparing on the types of Credit cards we can get in Malaysia and which ones are the best ones to get. So, I need experts to help me with my curiousity! Just pick whichever you can answer (sorry dont have energy to browse through 70 pages).

Here we go:

1) Best overall credit card in Malaysia.
2) Best company to get a credit card from in Malaysia (based on company reputation, ect).
3) Best cards for rewards.
4) Cards to avoid/ worst cards.
5) Best rates for credit card repayment.
6) Best cards and worst cards for:
a) Students
b) Low income earners
c) Medium income earners
d) High income earners
7) Cards with annual fee vs cards without annual fees: pros and con.
8) Cards with long 0% installment.
9) Best 'no-nonsense' credit card (cards with no weird t&c like have to swipe at least twice a month or will get a penalty fee)
10) Benefits on credit cards worth having/considering (collect Frequent Flyer miles, petrol, ect).

And any bits and pieces that I don't know about CCs in Malaysia. Thanks in advance!

@sense_less143,

1) Best overall credit card in Malaysia - there's no best card; it really is depending on ones' needs and requirements.
2) Best company to get a credit card from in Malaysia (based on company reputation, ect) - again it's v much up to personal preference.
3) Best cards for rewards - from points 'give back' perspective, go for MBB cards.
4) Cards to avoid/ worst cards - AEON Credit Cards.
5) Best rates for credit card repayment - am not familiar cause I pay in full each month and U should too cause U don't want to be getting urself into debts with a CC
6) Best cards and worst cards for:
a) Students - students do not qualify; need to be >21 + there's a minimum income criteria.
b) Low income earners - like I mentioned, there's a minimum income criteria to meet
c) Medium income earners - NA
d) High income earners - NA
7) Cards with annual fee vs cards without annual fees: pros and con - most cards are eligible for AF waiver except for Amex Platinum Credit Card/Amex Platinum Charge Card/SCB Visa Infinite; and probably a couple more which I'm not too familiar with
8) Cards with long 0% installment - at the moment, Amex Gold Credit Card has this promotion till Dec 2009
9) Best 'no-nonsense' credit card (cards with no weird t&c like have to swipe at least twice a month or will get a penalty fee) - Direct Access Free For Life Credit Card is indeed FFL
10) Benefits on credit cards worth having/considering (collect Frequent Flyer miles, petrol, ect) - again goes back to what you're looking for.

@cenkudu,
If Ur not sure U could always refer to ur statement; it's always written somewhere at the bottom how to write if you're paying by cheque.

@bingozero,
Actually, it was hye who reported his issue with AEON CCs some time ago - probably in CC Thread V6 or V5. Need to do a search - but basically he had issues with payment; he paid but they said he didn't pay, etc.

yesterday afternoon applied for the card at the TreatsFair Midvalley, but till now i havent got the sms about application status. One more thing i'm not happy about maybank is they initially said they will give free gift if you apply for new card. What actually happened yesterday was they couldnt give free gifts as the stock was finished due to overwhelming response. mad.gif
