i couldve sworn u sent me a pm a couple weeks ago saying m250.
think of sphex as destructor without the soft backing and fancy case.

and since sphex is suppose to stick on ur table, then technically its a hardmat.

just a fancy word for in-ear, so u jam the thing in ur ear so no outside noise can get in...
but of cos its not as good as ur finger, so some noise will still get in.

Got my Mamba replaced by Ban Leong today.

My previous Mamba died yesterday. Don't really know what happened, it just did. No light, no movements in both wired and wireless modes.

Called Ban Leong immediately, and sure enough, I was directed to return it to the shop where I bought it from. So yeah, went over to Sri Computers in Lowyat Plaza to claim the warranty, and they said they can get it replaced in 3 to 4 weeks.

Not being pleased with that, I called Ban Leong again to complain, and the bloke on the line told me that I can come over to his office the next day (today) to get a direct one to one exchange. Awesome.

So I did just that, and he gave me a new 'review unit'. No questions asked, no hassle.

I've just finished setting up my new Mamba. Somehow it felt better than my previous one. If I remember correctly, the rubber grips feels a little smoother, better quality.

Perhaps it's a classic case of 'hand picked review test units', or maybe Razer just revised it, and it applies to all newer Mambas. I'll compare mine to my friend's unit, which he would have just bought now (from the second batch of shipment).

I'll post the differences (if there's any) here soon.

Nevermind that for now. Ban Leong did a great job of handling the situation, I'm grateful for that.

Sphex initial test.

The surface feels very much like the Speed side of the Exactmat, and is just as smooth and fast.
so guess no need to touch on this anymore since everyone probably expected something like this.
The bottom of the pad also has a multiuse adhesive, meaning you can remove and move it to a different table as you wish.
As for how many times it can be reused, that only Razer can answer and as of now there is yet no answer tongue.gif

Moving on to the very simple package, inside there is only a Certificate of Authenticity and stickers.
Attached Image

Now on to what everyone would like to know - how thin it is.
I'll just say its friggin thin, below is the side profile of it with my baby BSCE in the back.
Attached Image

This would be good for fingertip users who like a hard mat like material, but without the feel of the edge of a mat poking into your wrist, which incidentally gave rise to such mats as the classic Everglide Ricochet 2.52mm but which also kinda still poked into your wrist.
So the Sphex - an ultra thin mat coupled with a nice flat table - seems to be the workaround solution that gamers have been seeking.

i dun think its a fancy word...wat other word u can think of to describe blockage of external noise?
u will realize d noise when there is no music playing...when d music is on, u can hear nth fr. outside...so, do not wear it when u're driving or cycling, u can hear no siren
i'm not sure abt razer iems(these "gamers" audio stuffs) but for westone, shure, sennheiser ...etc their iems do isolate noise very well cool.gif

dunno le.
i have razer m100 and shure scl-2.
the razer isolates sound better, soundwise both are different abit...neither is bad, but build quality no doubt the shure is better.

But why not Destructor? Both Lachesis and Copperhead has the Destructor listed as their optimum surface.

magic word is optimum, doesnt mean the rest cant be used, its just a guide for noobs who dunno what to choose.
i used my CH on exactmat and also everglide dktmat, both with no probs.

wait la, i havent opened the mamba yet...damn lazy...
once i do i give my review on it using my goliathus.

Yeah I get that, just that I find it a little weird that they listed the eXactMat, instead of the Destructor, as the optimum surface for the Mamba.

Ah well, maybe they mean the Speed side of the eXactmat. Copperhead and Lachesis were both targeted towards FPS gamers, thus they need precision - Destructor. Mamba is designated for FPS/Strategy/Whatever else, so a more universal pad would fit it more - eXactMat Speed side. Or I might be wrong, whatever.

Have fun figuring out how to open the Mamba case elegantly, LOL.

i used to play alot of FPS.
doesnt really matter what mat you use, as long as it works for the mouse and you feel comfortable with it.
if not mistaken, Lachesis was actually designed more for RPG ppl who i guess require higher sens to move around the screen faster etc.

anyway, its all just a guide.
doesnt mean u cant play FPS with high sens.
doesnt mean u cant use a krait to play RPG.
doesnt mean if u play RPG, must use control side.
doesnt mean if u play FPS, must use speed side.
u get the idea.

just use whats most comfortable for u, most important is that u pwn tongue.gif

Yup, well said.

happy enough with my Destructor. Only one side to choose from, which, to me, is a plus point. You get used to the pad and adapt to it faster.

With the eXactMat last time I had trouble finding my 'favourite' side as I kept flipping the damn thing over and over.

i think the exact mat u say is fading when used long time???
it's probably teflon feet wax lol(dunno the word)maybe leftings of the teflon feet.I used a high pressure and spray it(my friend's 1 he call me to see whats the prob)it come off like snake's skin LOL!!
Dude i felt the mamba like 5 min and my friend wanted to kick my ass for it haha(cheapscake)he pretty much richer than me though...
I tried on 2 surface,exactmat and destructor....
so far destructor works fine..the mouse pointer quite stable at 5600dpi(oni my hand is shaking)but exactmat use it on contrl,in speed you gonna be quite a speed user haha
That's what i think abt mamba..can judge with my DA cuz used for 5 min oni hahaha

razer should just release a sphex that models the control side of exactmat.
i felt that the control side was much smoother, also felt like it was gliding on air compared to the speed side.

deathadder suits palm users more...mamba also more suitable for palm users as the design is about the same like deathadder...

Hey guyz! I'm planning to get a razer mouse in replace of my stupid standard, stock, 600dpi, bipolar logitech mouse.

As i've never ever own a razer mouse, I'm pretty much lost as in which mouse should i get; Except that the Mamba has really got my attention - saw it last week in Sim Lim Square (Singapore's lowyat) at SGD199 (RM479).

I love FPS, RTS & RPGs but FPS will be my main concern. Which mousing pad would be good?

BTW, my hands are pretty big/wide; I move the mouse with my fingers & click the mouse buttons with my finger tips(so I'm in the claw category?).

i dunno cos havent tried yet.
the newer mamba's should hopefully come with the teflon ring around the sensor, so should probably work well on other pads.
and next week? u better hope its not sold out again cos only 40 units came this time, else must wait til next month.

haha....reccomended gaming mice on that budget is copperhead or DB3G cuz for claw use, pretty much ok for it...
actualy juzjoe, you are not claw grip.claw grip uses fingernails mostly.like me realize that i am fingertip grip, quite a swift movement i have.HAHA shud have get salmosa to save money but still loved my DA.
Auriel,if you want the price of DB3G,i'm sure its around 160-200(200 if you are in sabah or sarawak)
cusx.there are actualy 3 type of user as i mentioned earlier,
1.palm-the parm rest on your mouse and click normaly with finger
2.claw-your palm still rest on your mouse but probably uses your fingertip or your nails
3.fingertip(me)-your pam doesnt rest on anything on the mouse at all haha but movement damn fast,i tends to be palm grip to get over my DA but like fingertip actualy.

dunno if anyone knows or not...
but mamba as of 10days ago has a new firmware that fixes the jitter issue...
so those who upgrade to firmware 1.07 shouldnt need the teflon ring anymore.

Wah thanks for the guide bro... I never knew there are 3 different "types" of mouse users. Looking at it I think I'm finger tip for office mouse (cause it's too damn small.. cheap mini mouse pfft)... and claw for my gaming pc. Wouldnt palm grip kinda slow down reaction time?

Hey hey +1 to u for that informative post and Yeah I guess I'm a fingertip grip user. Since my hands are big, I can only move the mouse freely with my fingers - relying on my thumb, ring finger & pinky while my wrist & forearm is static to move the mouse.

I've seen the Mamba, but to my surprise its not that big IMHO and the Lachesis looks very slim and narrow. So i still can't decide which mouse to go for. BTW, I'm willing to burn a hole in my wallet.

I'm looking at the Razer's recommendation. Claw~Fingertip user are recommended to use Lachesis, Copperhead, Diamondback3g & Salmosa.

All not as good looking as Mamba. T.T

Must ask the retailer to let me hold each mouse for me to see which mouse fits my grip.

That brings up another question: Why is a high dpi mouse like mamba not good for fingertip grip ar? I read that high dpi mouse are best suit for palm users. why why why?

btw, I've never use a mouse thats more than 800dpi so I dont know the differences.

::edit::

Is it because the more precise the mouse is the slower the mouse movement?

where u read high dpi for palm users?
abit of logic here la.
palm users usually do big movements of the mouse, eg. to turn 180 etc...so high dpi wouldnt work cos the cursor will be flying everywhere and will lose alot of accuracy.
low dpi users also cant use fingertip, since with fingertip its not possible to move the mouse fast enough to do any quick movements.

Wait, I think i juz confuse myself with IPS and dpi.

Ok let me get this straight. A mouse with low dpi let say 600 - 800dpi requires more movement to reach from one end of the screen to the other? While a higher dpi mouse like 2000 ~ 5600 dpi requires less movement?

I've always thought that the higher the dpi the more precise the mouse is, hence a low sensitive mouse.

The latest firmware update for the Mamba reduced the jitters a little bit. Now it's marginally more usable on a Goliathus Control Ed, but it's still not perfect.

Both of the Mambas I've had (one from the first batch, and the replacement 'review unit') already has the Teflon O ring out of the box, so I wouldn't know how bad it was without it.

i been reading on the firmware.
seems the one that fixes the jitters, v1.07, also reduces accuracy abit.
apparently, it makes the mouse not detect the extra small movements which was causing the jitters.

so some still are on v1.06...some even downgraded from v1.07 to v1.06...
the accuracy tradeoff is more important, and they can live with the teflon ring.

i have to get the mamba setup, but i also read that to update firmware the transmitter also needs updating?
damn lazy...but first have to check if im allowed to update the firmware...

Damn, now that you've mentioned it, yeah it feels a lot less sensitive now. When making small and slow adjustments, the mouse registers this very weird, jerky response. Like it's ignoring very minor movements.

Gonna have to revert back to V1.06 then. I was surprised when I saw that both the 1.06 and 1.07 updates were dated on the same day.

Yeah you'll have to update both the mouse and the charging dock, which is quite a hassle.

Downloading V1.06 now. They could have mentioned that V1.07 would dampen minor movements. How was I supposed to know that that is the effect of the "Dynamic DPI Scaling" written in the release log.

With V1.07, if I move the mouse very slowly, it doesn't register any movements at all. Great.

depends on what surface and grip u using,if you are right handed both perform well..note that if you use krait,i wonder why you have not insert copperhead into the wishlist(although it's a prob mouse)
Copperhead and lachesis i hear many issue it's facing cuz of its high sensor or dpi(2000,4000?)so better go for good mousepad like destructor or exactmat..havent get review from users though(except everdying haha)

What are you talking about, mate?
The Copperhead and Lachesis were not problematic mice. I've used them both as my main mouse (Copperhead for about 2 years, Lachesis 1 year plus), and I would recommend either one of them to everyone.

Only the Lachesis has a slight problem with soft mats (easily fixed with some settings tweak). The Copperhead on the other hand had no such problems. I've used it on the Mantis, Everglide Titan, SS qck, Goliathus Control Ed, eXactmat and Destructor. Both mice worked best with the Destructor, but I think that's more of a compliment towards the Destructor, rather than being a "problem" with either mice.

The Copperhead works just fine on any surface actually. Except probably overly shiny surfaces.

The Lachesis is nowhere near as surface sensitive as the Mamba. I doesn't work very well on a Goliathus Control Ed, that's a given, but I know for sure that it works on a Mantis mat, which is essentially the same mat as the Goliathus Speed Ed.

So as long as you're not using a super rough soft pad (i.e Goliathus Control Ed), the Lachesis will serve you well. And believe me on this - it's a superb mouse.

Did the configurator quiz and the recommendations are:

1. mamba

2. lachesis

3. deathadder

lets see what happens if I answer it differently

I redo the quiz and all the answers are the same, only diff is the which 1 would be my 1st choice.

Not really. At least with relatively high DPI settings (2000dpi and up), the cursor jumps a few pixels when I click. And I can't move the mouse slowly and get a smooth response, it always registers jerky movements.

It would work better on a Golliathus Speed Ed. Or perhaps the new Sphex (wait for Everdying's review to confirm).

try your mouse to draw a straight line(my DA did it easily)
try clicking your mouse in the paint, see whether it is accurate anot(accurate means the dot does not move somewhere

once i manage to get the damn box open...i'll try the mamba on goliathus and see if all those ppl complaining are just unlucky or not...

Can't. Because mac's keyboards are slightly different from PC keyboards. And I think Razer Synapsis only works on Windows PCs, although I COULD be wrong.

The memory doesn't read mac. Don't know why
It will allow you to use the mouse and the settings will be factory settings smile.gif
Only choice is get a button config program like blacktrix said

there are some small things lacking in the mamba, wont affect performance tho...cant find any mention of it in the master guide so hopefully its just undocumented.

anyway, once the battery is fully charged then i'll have a go at it properly.

umm nope, like i said no performance related stuff yet cos i havent turned it on yet.
batt takes 3hrs to charge rite? so another 2 more hrs before i can actually test it.

but one thing right away i see missing is - you cannot change profiles without the driver.
Lachesis, CH or BSCE, u just press a button/s on the mouse to change profile.
there is no mention in the Mamba manual that lets u do that without drivers.
im sure im missing something or its not documented, cos razerzone says u can do it without software.

Actually full charge takes 4 hours. I just charged it for 6 hours the first time round though, as what these batteries normally need.

Yeah, in that particular aspect, the Mamba has a slight disadvantage. You can set any button to a particular profile, where the mouse would switch to that said profile when you press it. The problem is, the Mamba doesn't have enough buttons to really use this feature.

But in a way, you won't really need to switch profiles. You can use the driver to assign a particular profile to a specific application. so whenever the mouse detects you're starting that application, it would switch to the set profile. Pretty neat option.

Oh @ Everdying, I might be getting a Mako along with my new gaming rig. Just need a confirmation, is it worth the price?

You can switch from wired to wireless whenever you want, including in game. But doing that involves pulling off the cable and plugging it into the mouse/charging dock. That would take a few seconds, during which you'll have no mouse control.

Ok thanks anyway.
I'll probably just get the Mako. Nothing else comes close to it in the looks department. And I've tried it once, awesome for music.

Oh well, if somehow I don't like it for gaming, there's always the Megalodon. If it ever comes out.

H3LLKEEPER : if ur looking for a omega size mouse pad...try searching for a seller call Mika, he sell cheap Goliathus speed mousepad for onli RM35 new unit but then its the WOW OEM Edition where u hav the Lick King's Pic on it. Normal price is around RM45 for the normal all black mousepad

and btw...it did not take me time to get a long with my DA. the moment i set my palm on my DA, i immediately fall in love with it....its like the mouse is builded for me....XD

are u always confused? tongue.gif
what new ppl think DA sux?
and razer headset expensive? but u are willing to pay for 5hv2?
iirc, both piranha & carcharias are both cheaper than normal 5hv2?
while 5hv2 w/ usb card is almost the same price as barracuda?
btw, 3h build quality sux.
also a good stereo headset is good enough, no need all the fancy 5.1 or 7.1 stuff...the small differences they make do not justify the huge price increase.

u do not need time to get along with DA...it is quite user friendly...unless u are left handed then u might have a problem or maybe ur hand is too small for it...else it goes along well with almost everyone...the design is so far the best from razor and thats y the new mamba takes the shape of it...

i starting to feel nonsense in ur posts...do u know how much is 5hv2??? compare to chacarias or piranha which is lower in price...if u want budget headphone try plantronics or maybe a4tech...

Normally RMA will take about 2 weeks(from my experiences of sending razer and SteelSeries).. Depends on how fast the workers of the shop send ur stuff to the HQ or somewhere for service and repair.. I sent my Barracuda through moderno.. 2 weeks time.. i got a brand new barracuda.. biggrin.gif

never heard the paint will be peeled off since the 'body' of the headset wont touch ur head, unless u're talking about the colour of the earcup which can be faded provided u do sweat a lot. i heard some revews that carcharias (duno correct spelling) is very good in terms of sound quality. budget gamers shud try it out. tongue.gif

dunno if razer going to have a bag.
dont see a point in having a bag either since its not going to protect it much due to its extreme thinness.
just be careful with it, thats all.

did u even read the little review i posted on page 2?
do u even read razerzone? does it mention its cloth anywhere?
do u even read the testimonials on razerzone site?
it feels like the top of exactmat, so if u have ever felt the top of exactmat before u will know its not cloth.

despite being more advanced than optical, laser can hardly work at an extremely limited lifting distance, thicker feet will only make the mice becomes less precise
and teflon ring? From what I know it's the teflon feet used on Mac mice, surrounding the base of mice, didn't see Mamba is using any, perhaps there's another term to call that?
hard mat that focuses on speed will not help to reduce the jitter issue, in fact mice movement tends to be shaky due to the smooth surface and direct to the issue even more. Cloth mat focuses on control, gives more friction and may serve a better solution than hard mat in this, unless the cloth surface is dusty and clogged with micro substance that most of the reviews out there claimed may interrupt the operation of Razer's super sensitive lens, a case which I can hardly notice to occur on any other manufacturer's
it's a waste to use laser at 1.8k dpi, while for such working range a DA is more than enough. Razer wired mice cable is thin and sleek, can hardly affect gaming performance given a proper cable management, not as bothersome as charge up a tired mice.

no one is saying to make thicker feet thats 2 or 3mm or whatever.
just thick enough to raise it past the battery cover, hardly 0.5mm thicker.
the mamba's liftoff distance should be 2 CDs anyway, more than enough space.

and newer mamba's have teflon rings.
couple of guys here have gotten teflon rings from razer as theirs was from an earlier batch that didnt have them.

just in case www.googleityoumoron.com didnt work for u...
this is from http://help.razersupport.com.

QUOTE
Q:  When I click rapidly on my Razer Mamba I sometimes see the cursor move or jitter a bit.
A:  The Razer Mamba’s tracking sensor is extremely precise and when it is set at high levels of sensitivity, can sometimes detect movements caused by the slight shifting of your hand or the pressure you put into the mouse pad when you click. This effect can be amplified when using softer mousing surfaces as the precision of the sensor picks up even the slightest movement.

Most users should not experience this issue but a small proportion of users who hold the mouse and click a certain way will experience this. If you experience this issue, we have a round Teflon O-ring you can add around the Mamba’s sensor to help prevent this from happening. If you would like one of these Teflon O-rings please contact Razer Support at the following link.
to say that cloth pad offers more control than a hard speed pad, technically may sound correct, but in reality it all comes down to your preference.
also if you actually go thru razer configurator, it recommends using mamba on a hard mat.

Is a must to have a mouse pad for Mamba?

And what Mamba has that other mouses don't that makes it so much more expensive than other mouses? Other than the 5600 dpi and being able to be wired or wireless. rclxub.gif

jitter occurs even at stock condition, don't think it can work any better given thicker mouse feet
not sure if this happen to the rest, can be the flaw in product design or quality to begin with
I don't know if teflon ring helps while most of the time it's the firmware/driver behind this, other manufacturers would have include this in their products otherwise.
why would razer suggest a combination of mamba with hard mat? to promote the new-launched naked-exactmat-alike "sphex"? laugh.gif

actually my point of having thicker mouse feet is not to cure jitter.
read properly la, its to increase the height just a little bit so the battery cover doesnt scrape the bottom.
either that, or future mamba's have the battery cover more flush, cos i can definitely feel the drag due to the cover on a cloth pad.

Both the Mambas I've used had no protruding battery covers. They were both fine, no draggy feeling at all. Must have been a unit specific problem (with Everdying's review unit), not a design flaw.

All newer Mambas come with the Teflon O-ring, so there shouldn't be any chatter of sensor dragging along the pad anymore. I've heard that the teflon rings do wear out easily. But for me I've received 2 extra O-rings from Razer (one from the US, one from Singapore), so that's not a problem. BTW I only requested for 1, the fact that they sent 2 is a mystery even to me.

I'm mostly using it at 2000DPI, I don't get any jittering cursors at all. Depends on how you hold it, and the surface you use it on I guess. Whatever it is, I have no regrets buying it. Best mouse I've owned.

try to take a closer look at your battery cover in good light.
i can clearly see the corner edges of the battery cover hardly like 0.5mm higher.
if on a hard pad u dont really feel the drag caused, but go on a cloth pad then its noticeable.
i could probably try to bend it in, but better still if they could recess it like how the top part of the battery cover is like.
which makes me wonder why they didnt.

Looked at it again, the bottom part of the battery cover on my unit sits completely flush with the bottom surface of the mouse. And I've tried it on my Goliathus Control Ed, no extra drag.
They shaped the battery cover with that slanted recess so that it could be placed and removed from its pedestal dock with ease.

BTW @ Everdying does your review unit have any French words on the packaging and manual/guide? Because mine does, and I distinctly remember my first unit didn't.

yes i obviously know the recess edge is so it can sit in the dock.
what i said was to recess to lower edge also.

i guess a picture is easier to see.
Attached Image

the circled area pops up just a little bit, same on the other side.
thats where i feel the slight drag from.
so meaning the battery cover isnt exactly flat, and can be easily solved by either using stronger material or recessing the whole lower edge by a little or by having thicker mouse feet.
and yes it has stupid language manuals too.

Yeah I got what you mean the first time.
My Mamba has no such problems though. Even when I run my finger up through the bottom edges of the battery cover, I don't feel any indentation.

They must have though of this problem when designing it. If they were to recess the bottom half too, it would be just a little harder to remove from the dock, as it would have to be moved vertically up first (clearing the bottom recess), before you can pull it towards you in a natural manner. And they obviously thought that their manufacturing methods were capable of meeting the required dimensional tolerances. I guess one or two specimens didn't.

if u actually see properly, the dock clearly goes past the bottom of the battery cover.
so any bottom recess wont make any difference cept for smoothness of mouse.
or perhaps your tolerance of feel isnt that great.

and pls dont tell me about their manufacturing tolerances etc.
fyi, even the mighty Death Adder had complains on drag issues, and in which razer issued extra feet.

No new Mamba for me. Didn't need it. Hotel no WiFi, and was going to meetings so much, I hardly have time to game.
Now waiting for my flight back to KL in about an hours time.

Many people like to say its because of the Mamba's packaging that it costs so expensive...

it might be true, but i believe its more on the hardware on the mouse..

the jewel case is slightly overrated, but its still very nice

OMG.. where do i buy this??!!

razer just get the carcharias or since u got lots of money...then get 5HV2 tongue.gif

Wouldn't the non-slip mat give your mousepad a soggy, semi-soft, pseudo-clothpad sinking feeling?

Haven't tried it myself, but I find it hard to imagine that it would give a good feeling.

Eh eh.. the "uber-Dralla" pad.. veyr good leh.. I using it with my DA.. play until shiok shiok!

As for those non-slip pad.. if worry it will be squishy, but those flatter/thiner type from Carrefour, RM5 for a big piece, more then enough to cover your mousepad.

Got feel uncomfortable one meh if wearing glasses with full-size headset?

My brother using one, and I used it before, feels fine, doesn't interfere with my glasses much..

and if want limited edition, use the DA until no warranty, spray paint it in a different color tongue.gif

hehe, just got my mamba from moderno. first impression: the packaging. the packaging is very cool, but i have encountered some problems taking the mouse out of the box stand. sweat.gif the other components (charger dock, usb cable etc) are placed inside paper box, which i found rather 'cheap'.

lol, when i finally manage to put out the mouse, i saw the one at the battery dock got one piece of paper (which i eventually realize it was there to ease the process of taking out the battery in the future). i tried to pull the 'paper', but i failed miserably. oh well, when i read the master guide, only then i realized the REAL purpose of that silly piece of 'paper'. doh.gif oh well, at least i didnt ripped it off or else zzz

then here's the real problem start: the battery cover. like everdying's unit, my battery cover slip (after being placed) is not balance, therefore i can experienced some 'frictions' when moving the mouse.

but hey, i really like how things work via wireless. no more hindrance from the wire's bad cable management. biggrin.gif

No it doesn't look like Megaladon, at least for me not.. It looks way more cooler with 7.1 gaming surround sound.. imho, the SteelSeries sound card, unless you install the driver.. then it will end up 7.1.. I don't feel much different.. or maybe was it me not audiophile enthusiast enough? biggrin.gif

seriously hellkeeper, im kinda irritated with ur comment all around...

first of all i dont understand what u are trying to say...

secondly u got a DA and that is good enough...for the headphone if u are a fps game freak go for 5hv2...if not either chacarias or siberia full size is good enough...for the mousepad, it depends on u whether u like cloth pad or hard pad...if soft pad, qck or goliathus is good enough...for hard pad just get urself a exactmat...problems solve? no???

oh ya and for the keyboard, just get the one which u can afford...actually a normal keyboard is more than enough if u do not need any macros or special features...

if u dont like what u have bought, simply sell it in garaga sales and get a new one...if no budget, dont think too far dude...

If me, I would just keep buy-sell those hardware if it's just not right.

@hellkeeper
You don't need so high end hardware. You got a DA and you should be proud to use it sweat.gif

i second that ,

if u dun like what u haf just bought jus sell it in garage sales la. altho u might lose some of ur money. since its used.

no need to go around complaining that what isnt good for you or that thing is cheap or what so ever. just buy because u like it and most importantly u make full use of the things you buy.

for me i am very pleaese with my DA. no complains. Mamba for me is too flashy. cant afford it haha...

its meant to fit most mouses.
i also need one of the grips, but just for the right side...and i dont think i wanna pay RM40 just to use 1 piece only.

ehh... I was looking around the people who has razer gears..

the 10th guy and the 22nd guy.. DeLarafi and zx7177... got a Razer Viper?

I never heard of that, i went searching around google, i see no information of the specs, it must be discontinued i guess?

anybody here got the specs of that mice? seems legendary

EDIT : Found already..

Razer Viper™1000 DPI Optical

The Razer Viper possesses the most advanced optical tracking system of any mouse to-date. This is a high-precision, extremely accurate input device that operates at anywhere between 25 to 150% more resolution than other optical mice.

• Sleek ergonomic ambidextrous profile - translucent exterior design
• Two Ultra-large nonslip buttons - Finger tip grip for accurate and precise targeting control
• Nonslip side rails - performance grip design
• Ultraslick teflon feet - zero accoustic feedback
• Gold Plated Max-Conductive USB connector

cool... one of the brothers of krait?

The Viper was released long long ago, even before the original Diamondback, being Razer's first optical mouse.

Back then it was Razer's flagship mouse, for a while at least, until the super successful Diamondback was released.

u can try looking around the RazerZone website..

http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-piranha/

the specs of the Piranha :

depending on which headset , differences with the normal logitech headset is probably the audio quality, clarity and bass...

then comfort-wise, personal preference lo...

mouse drift... i heard that somewhere before, later i might try go look around about it..

i'm assuming that the mouse drift is where your cursor slides off the actual position, thus not being precise..

I don't think that will ever happen. The DeathAdder does not have Razer Synapse, so you can't save your profiles into it. Period.

H3LLKEEPER, you want to keep on changing. Sell DA. Then you say you want to keep. 5 days later, you want to trade.
1 hour later you want a mamba. doh.gif Just stick to 1 thing and frag with your mouse sweat.gif
Your DA is just 1 step lower than the mamba. Everything else is the same
I've seen many pro gamers who use el-cheapo mouse
They are one of the great FPS snipers laugh.gif
Just decide on 1 mouse and focus on it
I'm sure you have not fully understand how your mouse behaves brows.gif

Better get deathadder instead of mamba. DA can works on any surface. mamba if on qck, shakehead.gif . And its quite hard to glide due to the weight. Pretty heavy compared to ikari and ime3.0.

Again, I don't understand why you want to sell of your mouse if you just want to get another one.......

If it's because it's not comfortable, sure I can understand (although the jump to a Mamba would technically be the same). But from a DA to a Lachesis or even Mamba? There's hardly any difference man. Unless you're a super-pro hardcore gamer, you can't really tell the difference in normal gaming. If you don't believe me, go to somewhere where they will let you test out the different mouse and see for yourself. I'm sure maybe Moderno's shop can arrange something for you.

But, at the end of the day, it's your money and your mouse, so the decision is back to you. We can only GIVE you good advice, but it's up to you if you want to USE it.

BTW, the ONLY reason why I got the Mamba, is because I'm a Razer Whore with a steady paycheck tongue.gif And yes, I keep 2 deathadders with me still which is put to work on my laptops because they are just the best mouse ever made. I might get another one because it's so freaking awesome.

^ you still call it "the best mouse in the planet" :\

blacktrix EARNS his razer equipment by working ._.

anyway, i wouldn't get a Mamba even if I am working..

To me , its just the same as the DA 'cept for the higher dpi which i don't really need and the wireless capability which i also don't need as the wires don't affect me much..

Before you buy your Mamba or sell your DA, really confirm you're not gonna regret doing so... I did, shouldn't hav sold off my Lachesis..

The Mamba is very similar in feel to the Deathadder.

Seriously if you don't use high DPI (and feel that the DeathAdder is too slow for you) there is no reason to get the Mamba other that bragging rights.

And I remember you complaining just a few weeks ago about 1800DPI being too fast for you.

As for the polling rate, DA, CH, Lachesis all have similar 1000hz as with the Mamba. And there really isn't much use of it. Most people just leave it at the default 500hz anyway.

Razer Synapse, Lachesis and Copperhead has it too. And I'm assuming you want that feature for going CCs and such. Believe me the Mamba is not very portable. The charging dock is pretty bulky. You'll end up leaving it at home and use it as a wired mouse instead. And then it'll be similar to your DA again. Almost no one will notice that you're using a Mamba then.

Plus you have to remember it is a little surface sensitive. You'll need a good hard mat with it and that'll increase the amount you have to pay to RM550-600.

If you get the Destructor, it comes with a huge carrying case. Another big thing you'll have to carry to CCs. And if you do, it will attract a lot of attention to yourself. If you're not really that good of a gamer, it would be embarassing.

It is absurd to say that the Mamba packaging costs them 20USD. Maybe RM20, but even that is a stretch.

As I've said before, when you want to market something as high end as this, you want it to have that extra sparkle, and the fancy packaging gives it just that.

You can use the Mamba in wired mode even without the battery attached.

5.6k dpi = pwnage??? i doubt that...

most gamers dont even need that 5.6k of dpi...so u assuming the higher the dpi the better the mouse??? "good" thought...

i might see someone selling his mamba real soon in garage sales...

Using the Mamba in wired mode is hardly optimal, as it has a very hard, braided cable, unlike Razer's normal light cables.

With Razer's usual cables, you hardly feel any restrictions from it at all (given that you have good cable management). With the Mamba's braided cables though, you will definitely feel the cable pull and restrict fast movements.

doesn't work for me..

i might as well straight jump to 5.6k dpi and get used to it..

for me if i do like that no point wasting time learning low dpi, once i get used to high dpi i can never get used to others doh.gif

i just like the DA shape, comfortable and feels more like the computer is mimicking my hand movements than the mouse..

well it takes time to get use to high DPI.....last time i use to use 1800 DPI and sensitivity 10 for my DA. now lowered to just 3.5 cos not really active in gaming. once i switch again to sensivity max , i will find it hard for my hand to adjust. something like the nerve is bounding my movement. if ur not really meant for high DPI den dun buy high DPI mouse. u find it very very uncomfortable.

My style of playing FPS is high DPI for assulter. Jump in and spray
At times I put 2 mouse on my pad brows.gif When I want to snipe, I use the cheap mouse
When I spray, I use my Lachesis. Now I'm using 3000 DPI. My hand still can go for 4000 tongue.gif

*
hmm back from a nice trip.

lol, ppl still looking for viper for wat?
i bulked it when it first came out long time ago.
it had the worse sensor razer ever, was discontinued pretty soon after release and replaced by the DB.
basically, anyone who plays with anything lower than a med-high sens cannot use it cos the cursor will skip everywhere.
really have no idea wtf kinda testers they had then.

but one thing good tho, it came with a beautiful lanpack which im still keeping.
it has lots of space and was designed then so u can carry around the CD driver in it cos thumbdrives were damn expensive then...rm100+ for a 128mb thumbdrive? tongue.gif

I don't use it on a normal basis, but sometimes, when my arm feels tired, I DO use it to rest and use finger tip grip.

And who the hell says my job is a pro gamer? I'm just an exec flying from country to country giving presentations lah........

But if I DO have time to visit low yat, I MIGHT bring back another Mamba.

I have updated my mamba driver to 1.07.
It solve the jittering problem 95%. The remaining 5% probably due to my soft pad.
If not mistaken, i read some of the forumers here say after updated to 1.07, the cursor doesn't move when they move the mouse very slow. Is this true? Coz mine doesn't seems have this symptoms.

By the way, anybody know where can i try out exactmat or destructor with my mamba to confirm it will solve 100% the jittering problem?

I couldn't use firmware V1.07 for my Mamba. The driver somehow reduces the mouse's low speed sensitivity to mask the jittering problem.

For me it gets really annoying when I try sniping at high DPI (sometimes I have no time to drop to lower DPI), when giving small, slow input, the mouse reacts weirdly, no where near as precise as it was before the update.

Try making very slow, small, but accurate movements either in Windows or in-game, see if the response is ok with you. For me I got a jerky response, which I could not stand.

Installed V1.06 after that, and now it performs as it should again - perfectly.

But I do have heard of people preferring the V1.07 response, so it's up to you.

Razer released both V1.06 and V1.07 at the same time, so it's up to users to choose which one they like more.

1.07 for me on Destructor. 0 Jitter problems.
I'm at about 2800 DPi and it's still as responsive as ever, even with my Photoshop work.
God I love this mouse.
