k, heres my 'short' review of the Mamba.
it consists more of constructive criticisms tongue.gif

despite being more advanced than optical, laser can hardly work at an extremely limited lifting distance, thicker feet will only make the mice becomes less precise
and teflon ring? From what I know it's the teflon feet used on Mac mice, surrounding the base of mice, didn't see Mamba is using any, perhaps there's another term to call that?
hard mat that focuses on speed will not help to reduce the jitter issue, in fact mice movement tends to be shaky due to the smooth surface and direct to the issue even more. Cloth mat focuses on control, gives more friction and may serve a better solution than hard mat in this, unless the cloth surface is dusty and clogged with micro substance that most of the reviews out there claimed may interrupt the operation of Razer's super sensitive lens, a case which I can hardly notice to occur on any other manufacturer's
it's a waste to use laser at 1.8k dpi, while for such working range a DA is more than enough. Razer wired mice cable is thin and sleek, can hardly affect gaming performance given a proper cable management, not as bothersome as charge up a tired mice.

no one is saying to make thicker feet thats 2 or 3mm or whatever.
just thick enough to raise it past the battery cover, hardly 0.5mm thicker.
the mamba's liftoff distance should be 2 CDs anyway, more than enough space.

and newer mamba's have teflon rings.
couple of guys here have gotten teflon rings from razer as theirs was from an earlier batch that didnt have them.

just in case www.googleityoumoron.com didnt work for u...
this is from http://help.razersupport.com.
to say that cloth pad offers more control than a hard speed pad, technically may sound correct, but in reality it all comes down to your preference.
also if you actually go thru razer configurator, it recommends using mamba on a hard mat.
*
jitter occurs even at stock condition, don't think it can work any better given thicker mouse feet
not sure if this happen to the rest, can be the flaw in product design or quality to begin with
I don't know if teflon ring helps while most of the time it's the firmware/driver behind this, other manufacturers would have include this in their products otherwise.
why would razer suggest a combination of mamba with hard mat? to promote the new-launched naked-exactmat-alike "sphex"? laugh.gif

actually my point of having thicker mouse feet is not to cure jitter.
read properly la, its to increase the height just a little bit so the battery cover doesnt scrape the bottom.
either that, or future mamba's have the battery cover more flush, cos i can definitely feel the drag due to the cover on a cloth pad.

no no i did get your points correctly
I just want to imply that such mod isn't worth the compensation of precision notworthy.gif

seriously hellkeeper, im kinda irritated with ur comment all around...

first of all i dont understand what u are trying to say...

secondly u got a DA and that is good enough...for the headphone if u are a fps game freak go for 5hv2...if not either chacarias or siberia full size is good enough...for the mousepad, it depends on u whether u like cloth pad or hard pad...if soft pad, qck or goliathus is good enough...for hard pad just get urself a exactmat...problems solve? no???

oh ya and for the keyboard, just get the one which u can afford...actually a normal keyboard is more than enough if u do not need any macros or special features...

if u dont like what u have bought, simply sell it in garaga sales and get a new one...if no budget, dont think too far dude...

finally someone spoke up laugh.gif
be it constructive or not, the thread has been more alive with those comments though
hellkeeper I suggest you spend more time to tame your DA rather than tower-rush for the post count
be proud of your handling and pwnage, not the gears
