I have tried for 5 times to upgrade to 3.0 but failed with the error message " network need to be active or setting wrong" .I have follows the following steps and appreciate if you guys could check and correct :

1. Downloaded iTunes 8.2
2.After the 4th times failed,I select to Restore via iTunes and installed the 3.0 but still failed after halfway.

By the way,mine is a Maxis set.

No, i didn't see Apple Mobile Device Ethernet in my laptop. it only detect my iphone as camera or scanner phone. After i delete the usb ports from system propeties, and i restart my laptop, then i plug in my iphone with the internet tethering on, finally my laptop still detect my iphone as camera or scanner phone.

1. check if your internet connection is stable i.e. there is no problem accessing the iTunes store and purchasing apps on your PC/MAC.

2. if all fails, i recommend that you try another PC/MAC

Just to make sure that i'm getting this right, when you said "disabling my APN" you mean putting irrelevant text in the APN field, right?

And if i can work out the tethering part, maybe its time to really consider getting the unlimited data plan from Celcom coming Monday. Thanks again.

Moonflown, are you using Windows XP or other OS? and did you disable any services added by itunes?

my pc is on windows xp and the update wont work. my friend's pc is on vista with a fresh install of itunes and it worked.

btw, anyone managed to send mms with digi (maxis/celcom)? i have tried multiple times but no success.

what is the phone number format need to be used in setting - phone and the recepient?

I opened the mobileconfig file and I notice the Payload UUID is different in file that Krux provided and the one I got from http://help.benm.at/help.php.
Krux PayloadUUID states [7F31C980-26FB-4592-A1CF-ED588D71670C]. His setting is for celcom
My PayloadUUID is [077F3C8A-0C9A-42F3-BEB3-53200CCCF3E2]. I did for celcom too, but havent tested yet.

Maybe the payloaduuid i downloaded was orginally for SingTel, and krux from other telcom in SG.

Does anyone know that this payloaduuid do?

once u load the tethering file...
ur MMS will die...
if u re-set ur mms...
ur tethering will die...

Internet Tethering via USB through Vista works (am posting this through it now). An SMS also came in while i'm tethering so I guess I'm in business !! muAHahahhahahHAHaha

And now... a call to Maxis to enable Unlimited Data Package! *YaaY*

Yup. Alternatively go to unlock.co.nz through your iPhone's Safari and download a Fake APN. That'll do the trick! No reset needed after installation or removal.

you should, because from my experience of using iTunes, it requires a certain degree of connection stability.

therefore, if your browser gets idle from time to time, there is a high chance, that iTunes will not permit activities on its store

same rule applies to online casino and betting as well (for obvious reasons)

mine i never see i can use my phone as camera or scanner phone
how you got that anyway?
did you turn on tethering and plug it?
try go to that "apple mobile device USD driver" , go properties, and update the driver.
wonder will it help =/
i using vista business version, and my laptop always up to date with those driver/SP

I using krux mobileconfig
it works fine for me. i'm using Celcom, RM 98 unlimited data package

since it works, i din bother so much detail

i'm using windows XP, on maxis 4.0. before i plug-in the usb cable, i on the internet tethering option first. i didn't see any of the 'apple mobile device' after i plug in.

i think maybe i need to upgrade the OS to windows vista then.
