i have experienced the same problem. my solution is to install itunes on another computer then do the restore there. after that i go back to my pc and restore the backup. everything is fine now. before this, everything i did to restore does not work on my pc.

I tried it on another computer but the problem remains

@dozz

is the issue regarding the same name ringtone and same ringtone music? i think i also have the same problem but whenever i try to re sync it back the problem solve. i usually dont manual arrange my music and ( the box inside the itunes when you can manual manage your music or not) then it seem it solve the problem.

anyway try to plug out the iphone the put the song first into the itunes( ringtone song) the after that try to reconnect iphone back and let it do its job automaticly.

hope it helps.

Thanks for your replied.

Actually i just simply copy and paste to ringing tones from my computer to iphone, (not sync)... probably this is what caused the problem? anyway, i will try the method you mentioned above and see it will solved the problem or not.

@Dozz,
I guess we're all bz with the 'major' stuff. Haven't had time to look at the minor stuff ! hhehehehe

Anyhow just to update all. I think I managed Internet Tethering through USB - after installation of iTunes on Vista. The only problem is that I don't seem to be getting any data coming in; so need to re-check! *siGh*

Hi tink, i guess that's the point for USB to work on windows pc -> iTunes.

Yes, u'll definately need to install iTunes in windows as it consists of "Bonjour".

Bonjour - also known as zero-configuration networking, enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks. Bonjour uses industry standard IP protocols to allow devices to automatically discover each other without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers

Alternative, install standalone Bonjour for windows without iTunes (never tested out) to check if its work or not.

I just tried my USB tethering, actually I am replying using that. Worked perfectly, just had to plug it in and then Vista configured the device and the network and everything is in working order. I have iTunes 8.2 installed which has Bonjour which would explain why.

ultrasnow is for 3G iPhones, not 2G iPhones. Do read this: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/984406

You need Pwnagetool or Quickpwn to unlock/jailbreak.

@Dozz,
I just checked; damn.. there are so many new 'Standard' ring tones with this new update but they all don't sound nice. As to the problem you're having with urs, it's not a problem on mine tongue.gif

I guess it's almost all systems go for mine biggrin.gif Just need to figure out why no data coming in for USB tethering but at least I got it to work!

As in US, yes. There's liveblog feed via AppleiPhoeSchool who are actually waiting in line in front of AT&T store.

QUOTE
The following is my experience waiting in line for the iPhone 3G S. I will be live streaming video later once we get closer to opening (7:00am CT)

2:20am - Looks like it might start raining/storming right as the store opens. I haz umbrella.

1:51am - Friend just left, now it’s just me and the security guard. Getting tired.

12:39am - Not a lot of activity. Lost connection and had to reboot…

12:07am - Just a clarification here. I’m waiting in line because I was supposed to pay $499 for a 16GB so I didn’t preorder. Then I found out I can get the 16GB for $299. I was already planning on coming to AT&T with a friend early in the morning so I thought I would come early to guarantee an iPhone.

11:43pm - So, I went to my grandparent’s to borrow their AT&T USB connection card and then got some gas and now I’m sitting at the AT&T store. There was no one here when I got here, although there was someone inside. I’m pretty convinced it’s a security guard. He’s a little older, never seen him in the store before, and he’s wearing blue dress pants… I’m guessing with all the iPhones in the store, they hired a guard for the night. He’s come and peaked out the door a couple times but mostly he’s just sitting at the computer.

I read somewhere in the Apple support forum, the AVRCP issue was raised in the developer forum during 3.0 beta, and the Apple engineer are looking into it still.... will probably be solved in future firmware update.
