Dear fellows Iphone,

I have tried for 5 times to upgrade to 3.0 but failed with the error message " network need to be active or setting wrong" .I have follows the following steps and appreciate if you guys could check and correct :

1. Downloaded iTunes 8.2
2.After the 4th times failed,I select to Restore via iTunes and installed the 3.0 but still failed after halfway.

By the way, mine is a Maxis set.

1. check if your internet connection is stable i.e. there is no problem accessing the iTunes store and purchasing apps on your PC/MAC.

2. if all fails, i recommend that you try another PC/MAC

you should, because from my experience of using iTunes, it requires a certain degree of connection stability.

therefore, if your browser gets idle from time to time, there is a high chance, that iTunes will not permit activities on its store

same rule applies to online casino and betting as well (for obvious reasons)

friendly reminder; it may take a few days for the unlimited data package to be reinstated.

Hi nokia2003,

U were pretty accurate on the stability connection affecting the upgrading process. Now I have completed upgrading, tested MMs n safari and seems pretty decent speed to me.

Thanks again there.

yes. the setting already been configured automatically and you are ready to use your mms and tethering. anyway the carrier setting for maxis must be maxis 4.0 then it can work. if not you can't mms or tethering or both. ( the carrier setting can be seen on setting>general>about...mine was 4.0 and can mms and tethering.)

Hi TakanoKyohei,

I have tested the MMS and is working fine but as for tethering purpose, all I have to do is to attach my Iphone to my laptop using the Iphone USB cable, right?

Thanks.

Oops, kindly ignore this post... wub.gif as I just found the answer... rclxub.gif
