so public bank and hsbc is able to open bank acc online or just credit card?
thanks

You can apply for credit card or debit card online but not a savings or checking account. You must be present at the bank should you wish to open a savings/checking account with your preferred bank as there are documents you need to sign.

When I received the Just1 card, I did not see the small long-shaped T&Cs booklet normally attached to a new cc. Only some brochures and a guide book are attached, but detailed T&Cs are not indicated in the guide book. Besides that, I can’t find a notice mentioning the participating petrol stations for cash rebate in the guide book and all the brochures in the envelope. Perhaps SCB has removed the notice to avoid confusion?

isn't the 2% and 5% rebate available for any purchases regardless of participating partners ?

According to some forummers here, Shell is not included. But I haven't tried at Shell yet.

Were you referring to CIMB/DA? I remember DA sent me a pre-approved Mastercard which I never applied for via normal mail. As for other banks I dealt before such as MBB, HLB, Citi, Alliance and SCB, all of them sent me CCs via Poslaju.

No. My previous experience, Affin bank & UOB send by normal mail but the cards need to be activated before usage.

Both my application from DA and UOB got approved.

I guess i should expect this 2 from normal mail.

Just wondering whether it is not so secure since it is by normal mail.

Because the interest charged on the amount withdrawn (outstanding) will be imposed daily from the day of withdrawal till you settled it in full amount.

It's wiser since balance transfer charge is generally lower than cash advance interest (18% p.a.).

yerp....agree with david83...
shinzan, better u pay minimum first, than find a good balance transfer plan...
no point withdraw cash from other credit card to pay another...u'lll end up paying more interest..

remember

retail balance interest = 17.5% (or 13.5% & 16%) counted from the due date (unless not settle full from the previous month)

but

cash advance interest = strictly 18% compounded daily from the day of withdrawal...

I am going overseas in August for about 2 weeks and going to pay for my tickets soon. I have Plat HSBC, Alliance, DA, UOB and HLB besides AMEX Gold. Anyone can suggest which card to use for purchasing my air tickets in terms of insurance benefits. I noted so far the benefits as follows:

HLB - Travel Accident RM1.7M, Overseas PA RM300K, Missed Flight Max RM2.4K, Luggage Lost - RM5K and Luggage Delay RM2.4K
Alliance - Travel Accident RM1M, Overseas PA ?, Missed Flight Max RM800, Luggage Lost - Nil and Luggage Delay RM800
AMEX Gold - Travel PA RM500K, Overseas PA ?, Missed Flight Max RM300, Luggage Lost - 750l and Luggage Delay RM300
UOB - Travel Insurance up to RM2M but can't find any further info.
DA - Travel Insurance up to RM1M but can't find any further info.

From Citibank website, noted the insurance that come with air line tickets purchase is pretty good but unfortunately I don't have Citi Plat Card.

From the above info, I am thinking of charging my air line tickets to HLB. Would appreciate further info or recommendations on this matter.
MileAndMore - your suggestion/comments would be most appreciated.

Anual Income 30k. Prefer waive for anual fee.

Please advice?

if someone can just do a table to compare all the cards with the best discounts for f&b, shopping, diners, including other benefits such as waiver fees, etc and sort of ranking that would be cool

click on signature - you may get some info on waiver, points redemption comparison, cash back and installments program.

To do a table on discount is pretty tough as each card have discount at different outlets.
