You can always phone in to ask for waiver wink.gif
*
ya laaa...my CIMB DA, there was one time i made full payment a day after due date... in the subsequent month statement got finance charge edy, but no late payment charge....straight away ask them for waiver la once i notice the finance charge in my cimblicks....finally they waived it....

that's the only time i fail to make payment before due date (becoz i forgot), since i'm their cardmember in june 2008...

but did that affect my aim to be in the category 13.5% interest rate (next june) ?? unsure.gif

If someone hold 6 or more cc from other issuer, PB will straight away reject the person application.
If u apply PB before u have 6 cc from other issuer, chance to approve will be higher. Get this info from one of the PB branch manager.
Anyway PB cc very strict on approval. Myself also have issue with PB cc, the only cc issuer that denied my cc application in my life.
*
my case also prove your point... i'm currently holding 7 active cc ... since then, i applied to PB 3 times and never been approved....

this policy sux la...that mean we must prioritize in applying their card first...

anyone know hsbc amanah 5% cash rebate every fifth transaction is permanent of just a promotion ?

how can we know it's our fifth transaction aaa??

hmm...i'm thinking of...

1st transaction (0.5% rebate) - pay my maxis bill rm1 via CDM
2rd transaction (0.5% rebate) - pay my maxis bill rm1 via CDM
3rd transaction (0.5% rebate) - pay my maxis bill rm1 via CDM
4th transaction (0.5% rebate) - pay my maxis bill rm1 via CDM
5th transaction (5% rebate) - real normal purchase or petrol or something grand la....

and the cycle goes on for the next 4th i just used, just to finish 4 lesser rebate (0.5%) transactions to get 5% rebate on real purchase every 5th transaction....

complicated haa??....huhu..

not kiasu laa....just to maximize the my rebate maaa....

if it is a permanent thing, i'll looking forward to imply my usage trend of 4 "virtual" transactions plus 1 real transaction.... so that my card become unofficially 5% cash rebate credit card... brows.gif ...maxis CDM just below my office... brows.gif

but sadly just found out that 5% rebate on every 5th transaction only on promotion laa and it's cap up to rm30 only (for gold card)......not permanent thingy.. tongue.gif

if let say minimum tenure = 6 months, so after that period, if i withdraw the money, they'll cancel the card or what ??

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 28 2009, 10:50 PM)
To a certain extent you are right about it. I try my best to use my credit card in place of cash coz at least I get points for my spendings. And from my observations, it's not just the cashier - probably the whole place and staff are not used to their customers using cc thus they don't make an effort to educate the cashier on how to use the system nor their supervisor bothers.

For example, KFC has been a cash outlet for so many years and suddenly they allow customers to use credit card. If the cashier is having problems with the paypass

1. Best scenario, they will slot in the card into the cc machine and you need to sign the slip. (Sometimes the Paypass version also they ask to sign, I don't blame them coz it's likely their supervisor who gave the instruction)
2. They try to slot the card in the machine, something goes wrong and they ask you to pay in cash after a few tries. Likely that you will see that there's only 1 machine working in the entire store. Suddenly all the other machines are not working ?
3. The worst if they will just take the easy way out and say that the machine is out of order but actually it is working just fine.

Burger King outlet accepts cc as well (I go to the one in KLCC). Machines used to be working well and then only 1 works. Now they just tell me that the machine is not working at the moment and it has been the case for many weeks already.

I just can't believe they think that customers are that stupid and this is one of the examples of bad habits within the Malaysian services industry.  ohmy.gif  We need to get rid of our 3rd world mentalities.  vmad.gif
*
cc terminal in malaysia quite slow la i think...
when i shopped in london, frankfurt & paris, their terminal really fast...it's really take only a swipe..straight forward receipt will come out....i also quite surprise since the card is from local bank (i used ambank mastercard & bank islam mastercard & citibank visa)....

plus they always prefer using card rather than cash....most of customer use card....even 5 Euro KFC meal...

its true we must get rid off 3rd world country mentality.... sometime i annoy with merchants who do not accept cc payment if purchase less than certain amount (rm30 or rm50)....if u dont want u customer pay using card, just get rid off that cc terminal & "Visa & MasterCard accepted here"...

nono, the one i have seen is looks like a bar code printer. the design is much more same as the normal machine, but is thin and light, furthermore wireless, how good their technology is.

Should be look like this

their cc terminal varies la...but most of them located at customer side of the counter...some also got integrated with the cashier's lcd...they just swipe it (i mean in one motion) once...straight forward they cash drawer open meaning the transaction been authorized... less than 2 seconds i would say.... but of course it take sometime to be posted or appear in our bank online system...the fastest for oversea transaction i would say around 3 days....

btw, cimb DA having promotion for oversea transaction..... cardholder with the highest oversea transaction will get free iphone 3g 16g drool.gif ....
planning to buy something in jakarta next week.... hehe brows.gif

If we use it to pay bills online, we can get realrewards points as well?

i'm using one...i just use to pay my celcom bill...never bother to check the points...but they did giva seperate realrewards card which is easier to use since cashier need to scan the barcode.....

BTW ... for those who has gone to regular airline airport lounge, Premium Plaza Lounge looks very simple. When I went there, they only had some cereal, friend mee (which tasted like not properly cooked), sandwich (tastes a little funny probably was prepared a bit too long ago in the day) and some cakes.

Seats were limited and if you asked me ... OK if it is for free and heaviliy discounted. If you are used to those regular lounge then you will not fancy it too much. Just my 5 cents on the Plaza Premium Lounge.
*
what time do you went??
I went during lunch hour got nasi beriyani, soto ayam, pasta spaghetti, some mee & kueh.... beverages also got several choice including beers...

here are some photos....

hi he,
tnx for ur reply..im not a degree holder and my salary goes to maybank...

i've tried DA but doesn't work as well...wondering y  sad.gif
*
hmm...if then u should apply for maybank petronas visa or CIMB petronas mastercard..
both also free for life without condition...
usually co-brand cards are easier to be approved...u can also try EONbank mattacard and ambank realrewards...both i would say quite high possibility of approval rate...

QUOTE(xennion @ Apr 11 2009, 01:14 AM)
I have a question regarding credit card payment. Will I get blacklisted or get a lower loan approval rating if I am paying minimum payment for the next 6 months? I know interest will be charged but what I want to know, is that if there are any other side negative effects if im paying minimum payment.
*
as for bank perspective, you're their most profitable customer as long as u pay minimum...i dont think get negative effect....the name itself is a credit card...u not necessarily need to pay full amount every month like charge card... my tips if u wanna pay minimum is left the card at home....dont bring it..since if pay minimum amount means your upcoming retail transaction will be charged interest on day of purchase (no interest free period) until full settlement is made...

btw, if u plan to pay minimum u should opt for card with lower rates such as ambank true, affinbank & alliance younique... if conventional card, lowest rate u can get is 13.5% p.a.... u would also should consider islamic card since there's no compounding element for their profit rate....

4. Alliance Bank

You can check the info in your T&C booklet or look out for this info at the back of your monthly cc statement.

Thank you

as for hsbc is 1.25%
citibank 1%
cimb 1%

no specific cc....i guess most cc in their rewards point redemption got travel & hotel package....for entry level, most easy to approve (and will be given generous credit limit) IMO is DirectAccess (assuming u're a degree holder)...pm me if u wanna apply... biggrin.gif

i made balance transfer program with citibank cc...rm1000... interest rate 4.99% p.a for 6 months base on reducing balance....so no fixed amount every month...

what annoys me is, my retail transaction for the month is rm481... i plan to settle all my retail transaction in full...

but guess what, their payment hierarchy is:
first settle the balance transfer first.
then only retail....
wtf...in my statement, min payment is rm74.05....full payment is rm1481...
so even if i pay full rm481 for my retail purchase, only the balance transfer outstanding will be reduced to rm519 (it will offset the balance transfer amount first)...but my retail transaction rm481 will not be considered as paid and they can charge normal 17.5% interest rate (becoz of that stupid payment hierarchy)... i think the hierarchy should be the other way round... plus my next retail transaction also will be charge immediately on the date posted if i not settle in full of rm1481 by this month statement due date...

its very confusing....so be careful guy....in my opinion this balance transfer is good but u must not have any other retail transaction in the same account becoz it could mix up with their stupid payment hierarchy...in my situation no point save interest on that rm1000 balance transfer but still kena charge 17.5% for my retail ...
