hey the EFI update is ONLY for the new macbook pros... thats why jind86 got a message telling him he doesnt need the update. the EFI update was to rectify the reduced Sata bandwidth if im not mistaken. all macbooks and earlier macbookpros dont need the update.

I've just encountered a weird experience using my Macbook Pro. It happened to me today, whereby, when i turn on my laptop (Using Battery to power up). It was loading at the startup screen where you would be able to see an 'Apple' logo, after a while it kind of tripped off and restarted again. Would it be any possibility that there's hardware faulty to matter? Or is it not stable and i'll have to dl a new firmware?

Thx nimrod for the Harddrive recommendation, i've gotten myself a 500GB WD. I was wondering instead of copying the whole original harddrive contents into the new one via CarbonCopy Cloner, is it better if I do a clean install of Leopard and iLife '09 in the new harddrive? My MBP is still new and i have yet to move any files into it.

Haha like my CS3 dics, what to do. Better do clean install.

Regarding the defect of battery, only a few ppl face the prob, mine is still gd after using for nearly 1 year, but no worries, you can claim a new batt if it really swells. The battery dies normally after 400-500 cycles, if you use it frequently then of coz it will die faster that's normal. My health health is still 90% and only 80 cycles
