Your Logicboard (Motherboard) can take a theoretical 8GB memory(4x4GB) but since Leopard uses a 32Bit Kernel anything more than 6GB(2+4GB) will cause problems,i guess you have to wait for Snow Leopard to go for 8GB,the Logicboard and other peripherals are 64bit.

wow a very detail explanation.. understand clearly smile.gif

i was wondering about mac os hdd structure.

when i bought it, i assume it has 1 partition. does mac perform like windows where u can have system files in C:, while your own files in other partition?

or maybe for mac, all file in 1 partition?

you can partition your hard disk using disk utility.
*
so that's mean i can have 1 partition for only mac os system file.. and the other all mine?

any of you did this? how big you partition for mac system files?

i need to see some opinion... still feeling scare with mac os tongue.gif

or does it mean, look close to the gap, it should be black? and not reflection of light?

when you close the lid, the gap between the lid and keyboard should be the same on both side (left and right) however mine is not, the gap on the left hand side is higher compare to the right. that is what those ppl in those thread are discussing about. is it a normal thing ? or is it a problem ?

if you look closely u will noticed it.
*
i just got my MB 5 days ago.. i measure the gap.. all side is 0.1 cm.. so its look balance without any side more than that.

i refer to the both link u mention, they said send it back to apple, let them fix it. although it may just be the outlook matter, but since MB is expensive better send it back to fix. Rugi if you just ignore. I bet it is factory fault.

Its normal , when you close the lid. The mac goes to sleep , to fix this grab InsomniaX (google for it and install it)

I don't recommend you to do that for a long period of time , its because the cpu gets overheated and things may get nasty with it. I've tried once with iBook and trust me that thing went hot !

So its not recommended to do that for a long period of time. May harm your macbook

i want to ask.. what is the different between - put computer sleep & closing the lid..

because, i try to put computer sleep - when it sleep the connection still running and downloading.

but, closing lid will disconnect it.

what i found is computer sleep act like dim lid...

correct me if im wrong, maybe i did the wrong trial and error.

ok understand..

uninstall apps, we just move it too trash, or if there is uninstall just click it right.

i did try removing 1 application. when i install a newer version of it, i feel something weird, because the previous setting (the apps setting), seem to be copy from the old one that i have delete.

it look like the system did not uninstall the apps completely. why?

guys, any1 using wired mighty mouse on a macbook? i saw some1 post his with the mighty mouse on his alu macbook and it looks weird because he needs to cross from left usb port to the right hand and some more the cable is not long enough. well of course the answer is to get the wireless 1 but then the price is almost double.

i wonder why do apple cut costs on the usb ports.
*
i'm using mighty mouse as well.. and i have no problem using it on the right side although the port is on the left. the cable length is just nice, and it cross at the back of my MB alu. no problem at all.

i'm using huawei e220 usb modem on my macbook. so i already install the modem application for connection, which is MobileConnect.

When ever i want to connect, mobileconnect will pop up saying it require my admin password to start connecting. is there anyway to give privilege for this application so i do not need to keep key in my admin password everytime i want to connect?

I using Maxis Broadband as well. But i didnt face that problem and run fine on both of my Mac.
I use Istat Pro to see the speed and any others detail.Just install probally in network to show huawei mobile,
i just plug and play.Once i plug in,i click mobileconnect app and click connect.Didnt ask for Admin Password.
*
i hate that mobileconnect application, not only cannot find modem and keep asking admin password, but also it hang my MB..

what i do is uninstall it, and remove the modem driver from library.

then i follow is tutorial = http://blog.evandavey.com/2008/02/how-to-c...-usb-modem.html

so i only install the driver, and create new connection via network.. no need mobileconnect which makes may MB turning worst.

what i found is, the speed without mobileconnect seem to be faster!

i don't really understand how macbook battery work...

on other laptop, i usually be advice to take out the battery if im using the power adapter. this is use to reduce battery death.

but on macbook, it is not recommended to take out the battery, and there is some sort like battery charge cycle.

I dont understand the battery charge cycle.

Does it mean, anytime when we charge it from any 0-99% to 100% it will counted as "1 cycle" ?

If yes, then does it mean when we charge it all the time (battery attach, power adaptor attach, battery showing 100% all the time), means "0 charge cycle"?

I read somewhere - how true is this = The more charge cycle increase, will make sure your battery is in tip top condition. Lithium-ion polymer batteries need to be used for maximum performance. If you don’t use your device often, be sure to complete a charge cycle at least once a month.

I just bought my macbook 10 days ago, and my battery charge cycle is 18. that's mean i have already charge 18 times to power it up 100% ?
