there's another thread about keeping the AC adapter on while using a macbook.
let me conclude the thread for you. DO NOT take out ur battery and just run on AC power when ur battery is full. this applies to all macbooks, but for ibooks, powerbooks, and most other laptops its better to take out the battery. ur battery is only charging when the adapter flashes RED. if its green, meaning the macbook is running on AC, skipping the battery. |

QUOTE(terencetoo @ Jan 11 2009, 05:39 PM) Ohh is this really true? The laptop will senses the battery is full and skip charging the batt? Oh this is really a new thing to me. the only source i have is from the battery thread hehehe Do u have source to refer so i can read it nicely Thanks mate! QUOTE(calibre @ Jan 12 2009, 06:52 PM) I have no regrets so far except for a few minor annoyance such as it is not possible to play my PC games in my new rig. (there are loads of RM7.00 games for PC but hardly for Mac os) I also realized that websites such as AIA is not Mac Os friendly and website of some financial institutions. I am not into "Fusion"or "Parallel" so no Windows in my Mac. I just installed ClamXav but like most people will say, it is more to "protect" the Windows Os in my other computer rather than for Mac Os. Mac Os is really cool. Yet to experience and major glitches so far. Planning to get AppleCare before the 1 year grace period. Thanks for all for the interesting discussions . Really learn a lot of tips form them Cheers! |

QUOTE(d3lia5 @ Jan 15 2009, 09:29 AM) how i'm going to find the torrent source for mac. i'm not a serious downloader but if i need something, i will go for torrent. before this, mininova is my favorite. i know there will show some mac files to download at mininova but perhaps it would be easier if we have the website torrent source dedicate for mac. (if it doesn't, maybe mostly mac user download it there) i dont know of any mac-specific torrent sites, but most of them will do. isohunt, piratebay, mininova..they have plenty of mac stuff as well. just add "DMG" to ur search results (e.g. "adobe photoshop cs4 dmg")for ur video problem, have u tried VLC yet? i think most of us here are using VLC to play videos cuz of its wide codec support unlike quicktime |

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 17 2009, 05:40 PM) I have a question regarding VMware Fusion 2.0. If I installed XP via VM and make the necessary adjustment of RAM to be 2GB, that means if I were to run XP then my memory will be splitted to 2GB for OSX and 2GB for XP? Is that right? VMware is the app that'll be dividing up ur RAM. when its not running, OSX has 4gb at its disposal. What if I do not use VM (only use XP in case I need some software which OSX does not have), will my OSX RAM be 4GB or 2GB? Yes, I'm running on 4GB Macbook Unibody 2.0GHz. QUOTE(manutd #1 fan @ Jan 17 2009, 08:00 PM) anyone having this problem? try google some kind of manual update to 10.5.6. a lot of people had that issueI update to 10.5.6 and after restart the progress bar is kinda halt on configuring installation. i already wait for more than 30 mins but the bar stayed at approximately 1-2% only. I really need help as i'm afraid it will crash the OS if i force shutdown. thanks in advance QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 17 2009, 09:37 PM) The feature is called grab yes. if u cant remember the shortcut, just type "grab" in spotlight. the software itself is in Applications > UtilitiesAdded on January 17, 2009, 9:42 pmanybody managed to get the Bluetooth to work with Windows? Is the driver available in the Leopard DVD which comes with the Macbook? as for bluetooth, i dont remember BTing anything while in bootcamp xp, but i dont remember anything failed either. the BT driver is in the leopard dvd along with all the other drivers. |

i dun dare to run Onyx
as for time machine, i swapped the 250gb installed on my mbp for my old 160gb cuz 1) 160gb feels enuf for me as long as i store my DMGs and videos on my extHDD, 2) lazy to transfer the stuff from the 160 to the 250, and 3) wanna use 250gb as time machine backup |
