Welcome to the LX3 family~ This camera is getting really popular. I'm tempted after looking at the photos taken by the fellow forummers. They're really stunning and amazing. The image quality is even more superior to entry DSLR.

Depends on the user. If the user's a pro he can make amazing shots out of a PnS. If you compare both users with an identical skill though, IQ of entry-level DSLRs are still way over the LX3's IQ. DSLRs are popular because of the superior quality of the camera sensor. If not, no one will want to buy an entry-level DSLR.

Yes, will be in the market for a while until it gets obsolete.

It isn't that old of a model anyway, still will be in production.

It is a good choice if you want it.

Anyway, my advice for you is to make up your mind instead of dwelling on 'which one should I choose...' as the time taken to make up your mind can be used to learn instead wink.gif

i would say get the canon 40D.
make sure you get that with the 18-55 IS lens.
the non IS one is optically inferior to the one with IS

The bag can ask them to give for free
the rest of the stuff doesnt cost that much!

Probably you should consider a lens before a flash first.

Hi all, i want to ask something regards camera.. May i know whats the difference between those prosumer camera and entry level DSLR? Lets say comparing between Panasonic LX3 and Sony A350. I am aiming to get a better picture quality camera. And of course a good ISO to shoot on the night outdoor.
