Hey everyone,
Thanks for the help. Will be getting the Canon A2000IS. Was wondering if now is a good time to buy or should I wait? Will only be needing it in a month or two. Thanks a lot for the help.
Entirely up to you - camera prices don't fluctuate much unless there is a new model for that category of camera released.

I'm very new to dslr cameras and have this growing urge of interest to learn. Was wondering which model should I start with?
Was also wondering if one could suggest me one lens to buy together with the camera.
Type of camera/lens/accesories : DSLR camera
Budget: 2-3k
Your Location: KL
Preferable brand : Nikon or Canon
Type of photography u want to do : travel pictures, events, candid, etc
Any specific models in mind? : Canon 1000D, Canon 40D, Canon 50D
Any specific features u want? :
Canon 1000D, sell off kit lens, bump up budget a bit more and get the 18-200mm (if you're looking for an all-rounder lens)
If not, please, state what you're going to use the camera for mostly.

Type of camera: DSLR
Budget: RM 2K-2.5K
Location: KL
Preferable brand/camera model: either Sony A200/300 or Pentax K200d
Type of photography: landscape, potrait, night photography
I want to know how's the customer service of the above brand (if any?)
should I get the twin lens package or go for other options (third party lens/used lens)
I'd recommend the Canon EOS 1000D/Nikon D60 over these two models, because Sony isn't THAT popular and established in Malaysia
yet, while Pentax... is totally unpopular, I have never encountered a shop selling it before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but IMHO settling for a well-known brand would be advisable.

Budget : below RM3,000
Your Location : Sarawak
Preferable brand : Canon
Type of photography u want to do : Event n others
Any specific models in mind? : 400D, 450D, 1000D
Any specific features u want? : no idea
what is the difference between those 3 models (400D, 450D and 1000D) ?
which model is good for newbie and why?
which model is worth to buy?
400D is outdated. 450D is a minor upgrade over the 1000D and if you don't need these minor differences settle for the 1000D. What's more is that you get to save RM750+- from buying the 1000D which can be used to fund for a flash/lens

dont prefer any brand..
but i went to a shop the seller said cannon have a lot of accs compare to other brand..
what brand is the best??
can get 450D canon with my budget??
why not put a average price list in the first post..
just a suggestion..
I'd recommend you to start off with a Canon EOS-1000D or a Nikon D60 first. Both are equal in terms of specs, lenses, etc. You'll be well off with either.
As mentioned in previous reply, 450D is a minor upgrade over the 1000D so if you can live without these minor differences go for the 1000D and you can save around RM750+-.

I'm not really informed about the PnS category but I've heard some good reviews of the Samsung and Olympus, so why not you all try this two models out and see which one you like most?
