Hi all, i want to ask something regards camera.. May i know whats the difference between those prosumer camera and entry level DSLR? Lets say comparing between Panasonic LX3 and Sony A350. I am aiming to get a better picture quality camera. And of course a good ISO to shoot on the night outdoor.
*
If you're looking at image quality, there's no doubt the DSLR wins hands down.
It has a bigger sensor and lower pixel density(3.8 MP/cm² vs 24 MP/cm²) to give you cleaner shots.
Sure, the LX3's image quality might be on par with the A350's image quality when the LX3's ISO settings are low, but once you start bumping up the ISO, the LX3 struggles with noise.
But there's no denying that the LX3 performs superbly and is one of the top performers in its class, the high-end compacts.

rm2950 for Nikon D80 18-135 kit  + 2Gb + screen protector

or

rm3100 for Canon 40d 18-55 kit + 2Gb

+ additional rm120 for ProTama UV Filter (52mm - 62mm) & Canon OEM Bag & Matin Cleaning Kit & LCD Screen Protector
hmmmm im leaning towards 40d ...

40D anytime. It's intermediate DSLR compared to entry level DSLR D80

Guys,

I am so confused. After doing so much research and reading so many reviews I have narrowed down

Fuji f100fd

Canon A2000is

Which is better. Looking at sample pics, the colour of canon seems more vibrant. Please please someone help me. So tired of reading reviews.

Thanks

Entirely up to you - camera prices don't fluctuate much unless there is a new model for that category of camera released.

Canon 1000D, sell off kit lens, bump up budget a bit more and get the 18-200mm (if you're looking for an all-rounder lens)

If not, please, state what you're going to use the camera for mostly.

I'd recommend the Canon EOS 1000D/Nikon D60 over these two models, because Sony isn't THAT popular and established in Malaysia yet, while Pentax... is totally unpopular, I have never encountered a shop selling it before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but IMHO settling for a well-known brand would be advisable.

400D is outdated. 450D is a minor upgrade over the 1000D and if you don't need these minor differences settle for the 1000D. What's more is that you get to save RM750+- from buying the 1000D which can be used to fund for a flash/lens wink.gif

I'd recommend you to start off with a Canon EOS-1000D or a Nikon D60 first. Both are equal in terms of specs, lenses, etc. You'll be well off with either.

As mentioned in previous reply, 450D is a minor upgrade over the 1000D so if you can live without these minor differences go for the 1000D and you can save around RM750+-.

I'm not really informed about the PnS category but I've heard some good reviews of the Samsung and Olympus, so why not you all try this two models out and see which one you like most?
