@h0neey:
Why 50D? When you've got the money for a 7D, go and get a 7D... |

@bpk16:
Get a Fujifilm F200EXR. With EXR, it'll be damn easy to use. You have been blinded by Canon. From reviews, it seems that only the G-series and S90 from Canon are good competitors. You have left out Fujifilm... Bring her to the shop, let her try it out. I'm sure she'll appreciate the ease of use with EXR. Psst, I'm a Canon-user. |

QUOTE(bysquashy @ Dec 1 2009, 08:00 PM) Type of camera: P&S Either this: Ultra portable with good ISO performance: S90 Budget : Your Location : Constantly traveling Preferable brand : Any Type of photography u want to do : Good high ISO performance and wide angle Any specific models in mind? : LX3, E-P1, GF1, anything other suggestions? Any specific features u want? : able to use CPL filter or G11 Quote from: http://www.laurencekimblog.com/index.php?category=16 What about micro four-thirds? The Panasonic GF1 and Olympus PEN are really interesting cameras. Much larger sensors than the G11 with bodies that aren't much bigger. If I had an unlimited budget, I would buy one of them today, just for fun. However, in the end they wouldn't really suit my needs. Put the zoom lenses on them and they're pretty big, certainly too big for a small belt pouch. That disqualifies them for me as take-everywhere, always-with-you cameras. Conclusion: My G11 will serve three functions: as a macro camera for weddings, a vacation camera and as an always-with-me camera for casual snapshots and videos of my kids. Professionally, the only time I would consider using it would be when I needed to overpower bright sun with off camera flash using ultra-high speed sync. It's either use the G11 or buy/rent $20,000 worth of high-powered lighting gear. Landscapes, macro or portraits, there's really nothing this camera can't do. Detail is amazing. Any one of these images would have sufficient detail to print a double truck magazine ad, no problem. In short, the G11 is the best small-sensor compact on the market today. |

I know this is probably annoying to most, since all the high end talk is usually where the recommendation section is at.
I require a decent budget portable camera that can take decent quality videos (30fps and up), 640x480 is good, but anything up from that is better. Budget about 100 GBP. I've considered the Flip MinoHD or Kodak Zi8 but I was wondering if there are any other options out there. I don't mind getting a point & shoot camera to shoot videos if it saves me money, despite being inferior to dedicated pocketcams like Kodak Zi8 or Flip MinoHD. Thanks! edit, 100GBP is about RM600 This post has been edited by mofonyx: Dec 3 2009, 08:24 AM |
