I believe you'll be enjoying Tier II.

Tier I is offered to those who didn't missed any payment for the last 12 months.

2 HSBC sales agent came to my ofis yesterday.. Promoting HSBC Amanah card, they said they are sponsoring me the free-for-life-card with no min swipe.. It's up to me whether i wanna use it or not after i receive it, if dun wanna use it so simply do nothin for next 2 yrs n dun renew.. I gave them the crossed photocopy for both my IC n front side of my existing cc so they can do the rest..

Anyone know wat do they mean by 'sponsoring'.. they did briefed me about the term and gave me the brochure about the whole thing.. I didnt read much, coz i was in a hurry but all i understand it is free..

Anyone fr HSBC here, maybe can explain?

CIMB points can last 3 years? That's quite good I think. Maybank points last forever but they never have anything nice to redeem/exchange...plus now I see the latest points book, some RM50 petrol coupon previously 9000 points now 11000 points to redeem doh.gif

Hi
Just wanna clarify again on the New Interest Rate

So if I am a new CC holder.. During my first 12 months I am able to settle at least my minimum payment promptly for all consecutive 12 months. Do I straight get 13.5% starting on my 13th month onward?

&

Currently am I enjoying 17.5% on the new rate?

Just to confirm, thanks

its not 20th Feb yet so I DO have the latest laugh.gif
it just arrived yesterday with my statement - on the 12th as always. Nothing much to see. Maybe the 20th Feb one is bigger and more extensive. Either way there hasn't been anything interesting in the past 2 years so...not putting any hopes.

I saw my colleague's CIMB Rewards 2008-2009 book...and it looks quite nice actually. A LOT of items and some I think are cheaper (points wise) than Maybank. For example...some RM50 vouchers here only cost 8000 points compared to Maybank's 11000 pts for Rm50 voucher. That's assuming CIMB also give 1 point per RM1 spent on their card.

Depends on the bank I think.

Dun click! Nerdy calculations!!

that's the (really) nerdy way of looking at points. The other is just seeing if you need the points at all. If you don't want the hassle of using points to redeem something you may not want...and not to mention wasting the leftover points...you can opt for cash rebate all the way. I'd go for points though coz sometimes you get 2x, 3x points for paying bills, shopping during a sale, etc.

I think MBB TP is easier to earn than CIMB. 2x TP with AMEX and 5x TP with MBB Petroans. Sometime, time limited promo - 5x TP and 10x TP.

Also depends on the voucher. Some RM50 voucher are cheaper than others.

Whether voucher or gift exchange or rebates, each individual will have own preference. You may like certain items/brands, but not other people. Banks may change the items/brands after certain time, and when you collect enough points, no more such item doh.gif

Hence, it is the same with those always asking, which is the best CC ? doh.gif It depends on your preference, usage, places you frequent, your lifestyle, etc.

Two cards settle my credit card needs - MBB AMEX and MBB Petronas Visa.

It's easy, simple, convenient and rewarding.
