anyone know whether Alliance Bank adds any service charges to overseas transactions? Their card agreement at http://www.alliancebank.com.my/pdf/youniqu...ique_tnc_bi.pdf does not state it specifically

No worries, MBB will waived the AF for u.
Just charge ur cc few times a month with regardless amount.(cc must active)
Call their CS before ur AF being charged and not after that. nod.gif

i've ask for waiver before they charged the AF to my statement but they insist on after they charged it to account. Most important is they do waived it biggrin.gif . No condition like usage above any certain amount , call in and they will waive for you. Mine is Visa/Master Plat from MBB , rarely used .

Hi bro Reventon,
Totally agreed with u, it's the way to get MBB cc AF waived. nod.gif
But I always choose to call them before they charge the AF.
They have to charged in ur cc statement because auto generated by system, they will reversed it out later.

Was doing a study of Alliance Bank's credit cards and their cashback rates http://www.alliancebank.com.my/ccard_cashback.html

found an interesting fact. since it is tiered, the effective interest rates are different and depending on your monthly usage patterns, the classic card may give more rebates than the platinum card

In a nutshell

Monthly usage Best rebates
RM0 - RM400 - Platinum
RM500 - RM1000 - Classic
RM1100 - RM3200 - Gold
RM3300 - RM5000 - Platinum

Interesting point to note that even with the cap at RM3000, the gold card still gives better rebates at RM3200 monthly spending compared to the platinum card.

If anyone wants the spreadsheet can pm me.

*Assumption: You:nique = Platinum card cash back tiers

The rebate is not bad cause with the gold PB card i have, to reach the same amount of rebate for RM3k on a Alliance gold card, I need to have spent RM7846 on the PB Card. Talk abt poor return.... Pb's only positive point is no cap on spending though at those high numbers.. you won't care abt a 0.X% of rebate anyway.

I thought DA points valid for 3 years?

Is it true DA/CIMB charge us for courier fee when redeem points? Then Maybank no charge any fee?

The interest is calculated daily and should be appeared in your next statement.

For overpaid, some banks like HSBC and CIMB has good book keeping. They'll offset your new outstanding if there's any.

The interest is calculated daily rite?
How bout 20 days interest free rate? Is it mean that it would charge interest daily after this period?

Anyone use a CIMB Enrich? Just got mine today and this was what happened:

1. Bought air tix to Beijing but was told I won't get any bonus miles because they're promotional fares. Ok, fair enough.

2. Asked for quote from Kasina car rental in Langkawi (6 miles per RM spent) and they gave a 20% discount because it's off-peak. When I clarified if I'll be getting the bonus miles, the lady on the phone claimed they've terminated the relationship with CIMB and I've to pay normal rates to get miles. But on CIMB's catalog, there is no mention of T&Cs and the offer is supposed to be valid until April 2010.

Sigh! Anyone else have such problems with CIMB "partners"?

Make a formal complain to CIMB ?

Anyway, I've encounter these air-miles claim with different code, some give full miles, some 2/3, some none. doh.gif I think it is a standard practise for all air-miles.
