Exactly bro hye. it is very complicated & many condition such as,

1. Min purchase is RM50.
2. Only the first RM50 will be rebate
3. Need at least 5 x min RM50 transaction per month
4. need to SMS,
5. bla bla,
*
Yeah now I abit regret applying the Hong Leong Bank CC.

Now I'm going terminate the card but wait till other CC arrives first.

Need to ask you regarding on interest P.A

Example:
Let's say I have a RM1000 outstanding.. (assume no transactions made after that)

My payment:
1st month = RM350
2nd month = RM350
3rd month RM = 350

RM1050.. just assume the extra RM50 is for the 1.5% interest... (dun count too exact)

So will I be charge the 15% interest P.A when the year ended? No more overdue and it is within the 12months since my card first started.

As per CS told me is no, but he seems blur so I hope anyone can verify this to me

Thanks in advance

don't get you.. normally count like this
lets say ur outstanding have reached maturity before you make payment

1st month interest = RM1000 X 0.015 = RM15
You pay RM350
So it's RM1015 - RM350 = RM665
2nd month interest = RM665 X 0.015 = RM674.98
You pay another RM350
So it's RM674.98 - RM350 = RM324.98
3rd month interest = RM324.98 X 0.015 = RM329.85
So on the 3rd month, you only pay RM329.85 to clear all outstanding.

Total payment RM350 + RM350 + RM329.85 = RM1029.85 (interest RM29.85)

if you pay before the outstanding matured, you will save a lot interest. smile.gif

Oh I see
so it seems that the 15% per annum interest will not be imposed on my case la..
that' will be great

I am now thinking to apply a Petronas CIMB card for only Petrol purpose. I found it no any condition which is quite good.

I am planning to terminate my 1 month old Hong Leong CC. Abit disappointed with the conditions which I didn't realise.

I am now just waiting for my HSBC and hopefully I'll get it. I don't know should I terminate HLB CC or wait till all approve only I terminate HLB CC. Will it like affect the other applications like why this person terminate a card once right after applied it successfully?

I already have UOB card with me so far.

I think it is more down to your own personal usage. On which field you need more to determine which CC will give you the maximum convenience and advantages.

^Yes... i aslo get rejected from Citibank few weeks ago.. doh.gif doh.gif
Now Eon bank applications have passed 2 weeks... sad.gif No news from them yet...
*
I am also awaiting their response but the person told me it will take sometimes cause Chinese New Year

I was abit mad at the sales rep because he took my application all on mid of december and he only call me last week to confirm some particulars and he told me he not yet submit due to on-leave.

He got a bom for me and I told him he should not leave his tasks behind while on leave without a backup. But anyway, I wasn't angry cause I am holding quite a number of CC now and not in rush. It is just the attitude.

QUOTE(hye @ Jan 30 2009, 01:11 PM)
Just notice an interesting information

I recently applied for a UOB cc and when I called the UOB cs (03-26128121) to check my card application status, I will be put through the menu. The system will ask me to key in my IC and phone number. Then the system will drop my call after saying they will contact me as soon as possible.

Next .... the bank only called me back 16 hours later. (on a working day) Is that efficient or what ? Do you think you want to risk using UOB while you are overseas and you need to call back the bank urgently ?
*
I have always called them and get connected to their CS though my experience is the waiting time has been too long. Keep waiting and awaiting and it is no good for customer who has their hp credit dries up. But it seems these 2 weeks I am not really experiencing this already.

Hye, I guess you were routed to the "call back" queue because you choose on the application status. Next time just try other menu and I am sure they will ask you press "0" to speak directly to CS ...

Well they haven't call me yet.. not to confirm anything yet also..
I apply using my current CC only..

Hope it'll approve.. not urgent use.. but thinking to do some balance transfer from my current credit.
*
I just received a call from them 10minutes ago
Maybe you can call them to check. If not direct contact the sales rep who applied for you.

If not, then just go and re-apply and get another free-gift. Haha

That's good

I received another call from Maybank offer me the MayBank Petronas Gold Card + TnG Zing. I accepted their offer for Petronas card & rejected TnG Zing card. I provided them my particulars. Now I am abit worried cause I am afraid that could be a scam from unknown numbers. Hopefully it isn't. But they greet me with my name first so I guess they know my name thru their system.

For the lulz...
Even they greet you with the name first... It's better to take precaution.
Some companies like telco - might sell/trade our info with 3rd party, e.g. company that do debts collecting (bad debts, etc)
*
Yeah
this is what worrying me now too.

I tried call their customer service but of course they all also don't know. Maybe till I free tonight I will push them.

Yeah agreed RM2 is kinda expensive ....

However there is no other choice to topup TnG using credit card. Most of the petrol station accept cash only

Lol sorry a lil offtopic tongue.gif
*
This is the reason why I reject the Zing card. It makes no sense for me to pay the extra RM2 per transaction.

Infact, I travel to KL Sentral almost daily to go work and I can just top up at the LRT counter or TnG centre... there is no need to waste rm2 x 2 monthly... as I spend almost rm100 per month

otherwise.. will be just like you.

True, which is the reason why it truly depends on your convenience. If I'm fully driving on the road then I would consider taking it rather than jam on the "Tambah Nilai" booth on highway everytime

Anyway, it is all FREE so it is entirely up to you.

Well, I have a question regarding on Petronas Maybank CC.

Is it able to do those 0% ez-payment scheme as well for those participating merchants?

Thx

Hi Thanks

I understand that it is for only participating merchant..

Let's say purchase a laptop from HP which offer 12-month ezpayment to Maybank CC

but since my CC is only Maybank Petronas which is specialise on Petronas.. am I entitled on this ez-scheme as well or I need to get another normal CC from MayBank?

Any Maybank cc(Visa & MC including co-brand cc,excluded Amex) are entitled to enjoy the ezy-pay scheme from participating merchant.
U do not need to apply another normal cc from them.
*
QUOTE(David83 @ Feb 3 2009, 10:39 AM)
As long as the shop you purchased from is the participating merchant of Maybank CC, you can opt for 0% installament programme. MBB Petronas also offers 0% installament programme.
*
QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Feb 3 2009, 11:40 AM)
actually its the merchant doing the 0% installment. Banks are only using their name for promoting their cards etc. For example, Maybank card gives 36 months installment maximum but most outlets limit to only 12 months. You have to check with the merchant how long the installment he can give and see which bank. And you dun need platinum or gold card to get the 'ezypay'...as long as its the same bank, any card also can.
*
Thanks alot everyone for providing me valuable info and comments. It really helps.

Thx smile.gif

if you're afraid its a scam, tell them you'll do whatever it is in person. Ask for their branch, name and contact. Later double check if the number is real through google and call to double confirm. Easy peasy...

QUOTE(linuxskate @ Feb 3 2009, 11:00 PM)

QUOTE(linuxskate @ Feb 3 2009, 11:49 PM)
yeah my bad. my first experience tho. sent an email to maybank CS this evening. waiting for their reply..
*
I given my IC number and new address to the person who called me. It was quite a mistake. But they didn't ask for my M2U ID and others. Only provided them my IC and my new current address I want the card to be delivered to.

I am so afraid and I called CS last week, the CS wasn't helpful and kept saying there is possibility since I have a saving a/c with MBB(which the sales dept got my contact number from) and ask me to wait for 2 weeks to check with them again. Fine, I should have been persistent enough.

So today I call again and prepared to be more irate/persistent if they are going to tell me can't check. Luckily this CS - JAZLAN was very helpful and check. Told me that the marketing department was did submit the CC application for me.

So guys, next time if CS say cannot check, demand and make sure they check cause I believe they can do so, it is only they are lazy!!! CS should find way rather than let customer to wait, what if fraud happens on my name & IC. I will need to make a police report before all these happens.

Nope
I didn't ... the CC is currently in progress.

I accept the Maybank CC.. It is just I am scared that was a scam call. Since now being verified that it was Maybank who called me, I feel much better

Hey guys....i'm planning to switch my AmBank CC to other bank, I'm looking for the cash rebate directly on the bill instead to collect such "stupid" points to redeem free gift....hehe.....

*
UOB ONE VISA gives 0.3% on all transactions.
BHP Petrol 2%..

anyway, for Giant, Tesco, Carrefour have 2% rebate on the transactions but if not mistaken is subject to min spending of rm100.

HSBC Amanah provides 0.5% rebate to all transactions right?

Just wanna clarify again on the New Interest Rate

So if I am a new CC holder.. During my first 12 months I am able to settle at least my minimum payment promptly for all consecutive 12 months. Do I straight get 13.5% starting on my 13th month onward?

&

Currently am I enjoying 17.5% on the new rate?

Just to confirm, thanks

I've got my EON CC approved beginning of this month but till today I've not received it yet.

I called up the CS and was informed they had sent via PosLaju to my office on 5th Feb but till today not receive.
Check with my company mailroom, no such post came.

I was mad and I asked the CS what they gonna do, they then suggested to send to my home. I told them I am not at home and I am in the office all the time.

I then asked the CS would the postman call me when he is here to deliver me the item? CS said they won't call but they knock your office door.
I told them this is ridiculous, the address has already shown TOWERS(building)... how he wanna knock the door? For sure the delivery will fail.

I then ask them what they intend to do now. They said send it to branch but I said I don't have time to go branch, is there any other solution? Sadly they just ask me to wait for the card to be returned back to them.

It is already 3 weeks and the card is still not returned back to EON. I'm not sure has someone taken the card for fraud or other.

i've record breaking waiting time from eon bank for the card around 2 months from the date i receive the approval letter. That was when visa changed it's logo few years back. Their reason is " out of visa card stock, need to wait for the new visa arriving their center " doh.gif
i suggest if you can ask them to send it to Eon bank pavilion branch, open 7 days week, as i assume your working time is same with bank, on weekend both bank and you are on leave. Alternately, you may collect it at pos laju as they do operate on sunday if i remember it correctly.
*
I agree your advise on Pavilion branch would be good too as they are on operation weekend. However what I am concerned is the card has not been returned back to them as it is already 3 weeks.

Which is why I'm abit worrying

dont worry as u can requust to block the card and reissue u a new card so that u can collect it at the branch

Thx bro.

I called to PosLaju and was informed the card has just been returned back to EON but EON claim based on their system, it is not returned yet. I guess it is just not updated and requested them to send to Pavilion branch for me to collect.

Operation 9am - 9pm daily seems to be alright for me.

I didn't remember what card I applied that time but they told me mine is a Matta Gold card

After reading some benefits on EON website. Wondering is there any further special-benefit on the card itself?

For you info - I waited 1 month from my registration date to received my CC
Mine one also sent to office (Towers) and manage to reach lor of course.

But then again,
Without your own activation, that card is mere plastic la. so no worries
*
Yeah, Infact.. my registration date was december. Guess what, the EON sales called me almost 1 month later and told me he was on leave and did not submit.

Such an irresponsible sales person but he was lucky cause I didn't scold him but told him that he should be more responsible. It then got approved within 2 weeks. and it is about 1 month the delivery has not reached. It is only for delivery. Haizzzz
