Only mid-30 and above married guys got time for this hobby. If I'm in my 20s still single, might spend more time and money on girls and flashy stuff (to impress girls).

Update: My HT friend, Tan came over to my home today. He brought along 'Knowing' BD to test. Wah.... piang! The surr and LFE sibeh keng. I am happy to say that he noticed the AQ improvement of my setup. He likes it even more now. He told me that I only need some bass traps and some minor tweaking.

So, done some fine tuning again with his advice. Later, will do my 2nd stage treatment.

Looks like getting SVS sub is not the end of story and be happy. A lot of tuning needed. Might come into extra cost if room treatment is needed

Anyway I believed the end result will be rewarding.

I believe that's one of the fun parts eh, if everything is plug-and-play without the need of tuning...then there will be no fun liao. Anyone in KK using that SVS thing?

the only thing fun to me is watching the movie.. plug and play is more fun for me hehe.. just that plug and play stuffs are expensive .. i guess diff uncles enjoy ht differently

Agreed, but when you spend everyday for weeks to tune, the fun part is getting thin. But I do respect all the uncles' dedication.

Maybe my setup isn't high-end enough to have such dedication.

Bro, nope. I guess that I have been missing a lot of things previously . Even w/o room treatment, it sounded good but not at its best (at least to my aging ears).

My room is bad as it is 10' x 20' but it did not sounds as bad as it should Now, I only need to get some bass trap (to get a flatter FR curve). Any peak in the FR is coloration, which in turn camouflage the details of other sound.

You guys should do a FR graph too to enjoy your system better. Then again, once you knew the peaks and valleys (no escape on this for most untreated room esp open space), you will be itching to minimise it.

The bass is even cleaner, and tauter now.
