Bro, nope. I guess that I have been missing a lot of things previously . Even w/o room treatment, it sounded good but not at its best (at least to my aging ears).

My room is bad as it is 10' x 20' but it did not sounds as bad as it should    Now, I only need to get some bass trap (to get a flatter FR curve). Any peak in the FR is coloration, which in turn camouflage the details of other sound.

You guys should do a FR graph too to enjoy your system better. Then again, once you knew the peaks and valleys (no escape on this for most untreated room esp open space), you will be itching to minimise it.

The bass is even cleaner, and tauter now.

Now, I truly appreciate the importance of room treatment.

Looks like getting SVS sub is not the end of story and be happy. A lot of tuning needed. Might come into extra cost if room treatment is needed

Anyway I believed the end result will be rewarding.

I believe tuning is necessary for any sub (not just SVS) in order to get the best integration with the room. Even if don't want to explore room acoustic treatment, at the least should play around with sub positioning.

arremie, you should ask when s6xs9x is free to pay a visit to ycs's Ht room. I believe that his room is treated quite well. You will notice the difference the moment when you start talking in the room.

I agree 100%. But I just never had the time to do it everyday. When I got my sub, I spent 2-3 days finding sweet spots, tuning, Audysseying, but in the end I just had to compromise because my setup is in the living room. I'm the kind of guy that's more busy at home than at work.[COLOR=red]
