I just got asics gel kayano 15 on saturday. It wasnt that great at all, but all the reviews at runnersworld was good. The shoe was comfortable but when i started running it felt very stiff, the further i ran it felt really awful, my right shoe was a bit tighter than my left so i loosen the shoelaces. I ran for over 3 or 4 km then i gave up because i felt that it was going to give some sort of injuries .

Do i need to spend more time on it so that my feet gets used to it?

Yeap. it will be better as time goes by. My new New Balance MR1063 was also giving problems initially.

Gotta burn in biggrin.gif

SpaceBeast: The Kayano 15 isn't like Saucony shoes which are on the softer side and thus requires a run in. A 50K to 100K will be idle. Since you mention tightness, did you get the correct size and did you lace it up properly as the lacing system on the Kayano 15 is different from conventional running shoes?

And as ccube was saying, no one shoe is perfect. You can give me a super mumbo shoe that is worth RM1,000 but in the end, I end up with a shoe that costs only RM300. It's a personal feel for everyone here as we all are unique and have different foot and running gait. And while there are a few shoes testers at RunnersWorld, they mainly uses machine to test and torture the shoes.

Finally, do post your feedbacks on the Kayano 15 here. I will try to help you as much as I can as I personally own it and have no problems with it thus far. And am writing a review on it.

Brooks is at Curve (highest floor), BBT (Klang) and some Jusco outlets....GOto Curve....the unker there is quite helpful in giving advice...but of course, it's more accessible to chat with choi and phoenix over here.

I find Brooks pricing and Saucony are minimally different.....just gotta find one that suit you the best......

The last time I went there, Brooks the Curve was undergoing some renovation, so the store was in a mess. Maybe now settle edi...

Yeah i got the correct size, i always go for 1 size bigger than my normal shoe size. Not sure about the lacing but i dont like to keep my shoes tight, is this ok on the long run? So i need to go 50 or 100km to get comfortable with it?

hey fellow Runnerz!!! still havent sure if my friend had sent the cheque for the Adidas KOTR but i hope that she did, cant wait for the run worse case have to sign up in Gardens since the closing date is 24th July

and SpaceBeast for your question, most of the Asics are stiff at first (well from what ive worn) ive had 4 different pair of Asics from the Kayano, GT Series i struggled to even complete 10k when they were new, it took me about 50k to 60km to break them in..it needs to mould according to your feet...once it does pure heaven laugh.gif run more in them run longer then you'll know the effects

EDIT: I had the same issues with the lacing...my right was tighter than the left then i found out it was to do with my socks..changed it and re-laced back the shoes, i always re-lace my shoes it worked though still had issues but not too big i got used to it...

d3vilzzzz: Was never gone. Just hiding.

SpaceBeast: Keep the lace slightly loose on the lower part of the foot so that your metatarsals and tarsal have room to move around. Tighten the lace as it moves up. Yes, the Kayano 15 is designed for long runs. If all else fails, it might just be that the shoe isn't for you. Did you check your foot type before purchasing it? The Kayano series falls under the stability category. On another note, I normally wear my new shoes with socks and walk around in the house for a couple of weeks first before taking them out to run. This gives my foot time to slowly adjust to it.

shoes are not refundable in MY unlike in USA where u can send the shoe back if u r not satisfied with it. in MY, consumers had not rights to return, too bad.

Bro,

I had experience refunding the shoes that i bought at Adidas Malaysia. The allowed me to get new pair of shoes because of the defects usually not more than 6 months. I changed twice once at KL Sentral for my soccer boots ( no more at Kl Sentral nowdays) and for my sports shoes at SACC in shah alam.

But if u buy the shoes from reseller i.e Al-ikhsan, RSH i dun think they will give u a refund.

grinchest: adidas used to have a wear and test program. They don't now. However, if they still practice the exchange policy now, I am in no position to compete with them. Like ccube, we are together selling our products at lower price compared to retail yet still offering off the shelf quality. And we will always advice our customers to fully test our products before purchase. We have our principles in keeping our customers happy.
