Saucony, Brooks, Newton and Mizuno, has to choose one.
I saw Newton Gravity on the net, quite gd looking.
But very pricey.
ALso heard Newton running style is a bit different.
*
Honestly Newton's running techinique just another marketing ploy..in the end it what you want and what you can afford, Newton's has a slightly elevated base on the forefoot that helps forefoot strike but yes you have to pay for it...personally I've tried it and nearly got it but thought better keep the money to get a Garmin,

Which brings me to the Garmins...heard lots of bad reviews about Garmin 405 compared to 305 where the bezel has some touch sensetivity issue's..Digital Mall in PJ quoted me ard 1.7k without HRM and 1.2k for 305 without HRM, probably get it in Sim Lim Sq this year end i was quote RM 1.4 without the HRM monitor

btw Metalfreak saw your new Nike's in the Fatso thread..hows it?? brows.gif

Not too bad. but only a short run la..about 5KM.

the cushioning seems nice..especially the forefeet,..can feel it cushioning upon landing..may be because its still new..Alittle springy feeling..just alittle. Heel strike is also being cushioned....hence that design macam layers.

I will try to run more to get a better review. I am using it for my McD run. but..the colour abit ah beng ish...black and super bright orange

LOL bro, I just saw your older post messages. You posted a picture of your shoe's sole....not like that la bro...wrong way. It will probably show us your running style only from the wear and tear.

Do a wet feet test. this is how you do it

1. Wet your feet alittle bit
2. Step on a piece of newspaper
3. Take a picture of that newspaper with your foot print and upload so we can help see what type of feet you are having

How to decide? Ccube and other experienced runner will help you choose a suitable.
feet type + Budget will more likely come into play.

hmm.gif well u cud say so but then again newtons are realli for ppl hu are ALREADY forefoot runners.. this is so as if u dun already run like dat and want to change your running style, your calves are realli going to hurt (i tink ccube mentioned this to me as he has tried these shoes before and will b a distributor of this brand soon) can u imagine 21km or 42km on your forefoot?

this method of running hwever without a doubt helps u run faster (just like sprinters?) and judging base on the elites who wear newtons during international races..

Garmins? hehe check with ccube and marvinct for that laugh.gif

if u decided 2 buy a NEWTON, let me know. Am selling it now.

As for Garmin, just buy the 305. i do hear runners experience those problems u mentioned in 405. i personally uses a 205 for the last 1.5 years, perfectly OK.

What do you mean by phantom the McD run?

Added on July 7, 2009, 5:00 pmI need some adivice from all the runnerz here.

I don't feel comfortable wearing shorts anymore while running.

Are there any good below knee length running pants? Tights?
I heard from a guy running at a track once that it's not advisable to run wearing tights? Is that true?

If you guys know any, can you recommend a brand and the price range. I need to find one ASAP. Thanks all.

Owh. I see.
I wanted to do that for the Standard Chartered KLM but the organizers advised me against it as we will be in the way of the registered runners. I almost ran though but decided to run by myself at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa.

Are your tights below the knee (covers the knee area)? I am only looking for any type of running pants, tights that covers the knee.
And how much? So, from what you said it's more comfortable running with tights? Are there tights made especially for running? Don't you feel 'tight' around your hamstring and you feel no restrictions whatsoever while running?

Sorry for too many Q's. Would appreciate if someone can answer all these questions.

the New Balance one doesn't cover the knee but it is not tight. its very comfortable actually as its running shorts.

Did Octagon said that? Take a look here... there were so many mothers bringing their strollers out into the finishing path (the area at the end of Jln TAR).. that they are become road hazards to the marathoners who are running towards the finishing line.. mad.gif

Look at this poor runner trying to squeeze between a "walking" finisher and the strollers!!

Yeah, I asked the organizers the day before the race and they said that I can't be a phantom runner.
I'm glad I wasn't......pity that guy. (but the mom looks like she has a bib tongue.gif )
