desmond1310, hot ambient? idling at 50c seems a bit high for the 4850GS especially on 60% fan speed. Or you didn't mount back properly ka @@?
*
Thermal paste pasal kot. Upon removing the heatsink for the first time, the original thermal paste is GLUED to the heatsink. Took some force to remove it. Might've smudged it badly when I was putting back on.

Last time, before I did these mods, idle temps reach 47C under 60%.

Hot ambient....... I feel my upstairs hall is cool though, with windows closed and fan on that is.

I'm still amazed at yours la; idles so low. Where are you staying?

600W with 75++% efficiency. Um. What's wrong with Vantec PSU anyway? I like the sleeves  rolleyes.gif

Nothing wrong with the Vantec. I was actually planning to get Vantec 550W but I can't find any review about it and no one in LYN give me any feedback about this PSU, so I just skip it.

To me it seems like a solid PSU with a very affordable price. And yeah, I love the blue sleeve cables too. smile.gif

QUOTE(jepertine90 @ Sep 26 2008, 12:31 PM)

so how izit??? good?? bad?? hws the temp???

last time i use sapphire 4670(sold to friend due to i'm a gainward fans!!!), it did a pretty good job.
*
well...i'm quite impressed by this card (maybe because i'm a 8500GT user before tongue.gif), runs smoothly, can play a lot of new game (especially the one with AA... can turn until 16x rclxm9.gif , i only tried on bunch of games like AOEIII (all settings max...and ya old i know) and C&C3 & kane's wrath (all setting max at 1280X1024) still darn smooth....... very good card for its price tongue.gif

the fan noise is quite neglectable.... as for the temp.. when its idle its quite cool.... in the 35- 40C range... and when in Load it increases quite hot...about double the idle temp.. shocking.gif (maybe because of the small fan and heatsink) but then again im not a technical guy... so i might be wrong tongue.gif

anyways, still waiting for newer driver to see if the performance of this card could be tweaked to the max laugh.gif

The performance hit is actually smaller than what is suggested, due to the 4850 being bandwidth bottlenecked already at 2Ghz GDDR3. So this is still closer to 8800GTS/8800GTX/9800GTX than 9800GT.

nVidia can't sell any card without dropping prices crazily nowadays. Ouch.

Yeah, for memory bottlenecked stuff it's going to be pretty sweet. But the AF performance drop should be a bit moar pronounced in this one because the number of filters is now equal to the number of interpolators lol. Ironically, this is the original RV770 design target. Poor nvidia (oh the pun) tongue.gif
