Guys,

Please be reasonable lar. Let the distros here (no matter what brands) survive. Don't just follow RRP prices in Europe or US blindly.

Please understand our problems:

1. Many have old stocks at old costs.

2. USD is at a very high rate, 3.5 maybe going to 3.6 soon.

3. Our margins are very low, due to ATI vs NV price war and stiff competition among the brands.

4. Don't forget we need to pay for shipping costs, holding costs, financing costs and support costs.

Thank you all for your understanding. notworthy.gif

What brand gfx that provide the best default cooling system.?
See the brands here (middle of the post): http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/788313/+40

Suggest you focus on price/performance, most GC cooling are acceptable under normal usage.

I will be no suprise if the HIS HD4670 iceq-Turbo is exceeding RM400 since the normal 1 now oledi RM350+-, so for the OC version should be more of that.
Haha, me also i nthe same situation, a lot of fren here suggest me to buy the 3870 instead of 4670. Imho, even if 128 bit different but it should on par or lose a bit to the 3850 in certain performance.
*
From the word of ATI directly, 4600 series NOT meant to compete with 3800 series. They will lose out in high res settings and games that require a lot of mem transfer, or when using large LCD in high res.

4600 series objective is to be the best mainstream GC, while 3800 series is the best mid range GC. With the 3850 and 3870 prices today, it's super good buy.

Clearer now?

well, im not entirely sure if this is the same case, but it looks like it. from the 8600gts.
but seriously, under that hood, u cant really have positive visual confirmation on what is under it.
Errr... that's not correct. The fansink in Gainward HD4670 is different from the the obsoleted 8600GTS. It has a much bigger fansink similar to the HD3850 model:

Choose Gainward. brows.gif Study all the links below. icon_idea.gif

Seriously, your question is too general. It would help if you can let people know your budget, intention (hardcore gaming @ max settings, mid range gaming @ good settings, normal use, office use, browsing only etc), what kind of games/applications you mostly use, what is your PC specs, and etc.

The more info you give, the better advice you'll get. Plenty of experience users and knowledgeable people here.

The price of HD4800 series still hasnt drop a lot. Nvidia drop a lot.
NVidia is panicking. What is happening now (renaming, price cut, bundling etc) is in direct response to ATI super-successful 4000 series, esp. the 4850 model. We don't see any real offer from NVidia within the next 6 mths that is able to counter ATI 4000 series.

But NVidia 9800 models at today's prices are really good. So it's a relatively good buy for those who want decent graphics below/around RM500.
