I'm using a habitrail playground for 2 of my robos now, so far not much problematic except the cage comes with extra iron for my robos. tongue.gif They always like to climb up and chew on those metal bars... now i use some 1.5inches width plastic card to block them from climbing up.

But for habitrail mini, IMO, i think it's not very practical. First of all, the mushroom water bottle... and the hanging wheel... etc... You ask me run on a hanging wheel, i also die lo, dun mention bout hamster. tongue.gif

Well, I keep telling him "stand" while dangling the treat a little above him. He just stays very still and stares at the treat.

lolz interesting ques.. giving worms & smoothie will make the hammie fat & chubby..
but what's the difference? answer is, giving mealworms alone is like u eating fried chicken all the time, will become fat but wont be healthy..
therefore, mealworm is only an extra(give 4-5 mealworm per day is enough).. smoothie must come first.. with smoothie + good dry food, ur hamster will lead a good life..

Lol, if you mean in an amusing way.

Dwarves can only be handled for a period of time each day. Most of them aren't very comfortable with humans petting them too much.

Syrians are ok with it frequent handling. blush.gif But I have a better time teaching Pastel tricks than my Roche and Ferro.

Well it depends on how hot the enclosure is for your hams.

When my robos were placed outdoors, they drank a lot. Robos tend to sweat a lot. So they need to drink a lot. When they lived indoors, they drink less.

A small 100 ml bottle is more than enough. Just get one that doesn't leak ok? Or the one that comes with habitrail cages is good too.

smile.gif Basically small size bottles lar.

tongue.gif BTW what breed are you interested to get?

I was using a habitrail mini, i took virtually everything out and used the cage itself only. i used a normal water bottle (metal tip with the ball thing inside) and hung it from the top of the cage. I got a safari wheel from Sangels, it was all fine, until they started to have fun squeezing behind the bars and knocking the wheel down, most of the time on each other... lol...

So now i'm on the hunt for a new cage, aiming for a 2 story cage with plastic bottom and platform. Also looking for another wheel... lol

Why don't you just get a tank criollo? shakehead.gif The sound and habit of them chewing bars are so unpleasant.

Anyway, a guy just put some RC hamsters up for adoption. Anyone interested can go have a look.

Well, that's part of taming. smile.gif It just doesn't happen overnight, soul. Give her some time. She doesn't know you yet.

Put some food on your hand and try to tempt her to get on your hand. make sure you keep your hand very still. When she gets used to climbing on your hand for food, try to move it a little higher. When she panics, let her go back into her cage. And try the not moving hand thing again.

Love = patience + sacrifice.

Patience will yield a good result. Patience is a virtue. Understand that your hamster will get freaked out by a giant hand right?
