I think the down light is facing downward / vertical. That type of down light need 6" to 9"

Even without that, think your ceiling is low. maybe 9'? My house without plaster ceiling 9' 8" think still consider low. So I got to use l box, make center higher (about 9') to put a fan.

Now really stressed. Yes my uncle put such downlight so as for easier maintenance. Vertical type just take out easily if want to change bulb. Just proceed without further check since i think wont differ much.

Anyway everything done now. Just now discuss with my uncle he suggest to put a decorative light on that suppose to be ceiling fan placing. I think that is a good alternative. Will buy standing fan

Recommended ceiling height for sensa series is 8-9ft, according to the fella from electrical shop when I purchase my sensa, he told me that if ceiling more than 9" the wind will be no strong enough

KDK manufacture the fans for Panasonic. So other than the design (maybe some diff in color) they're actually the same. but with a twist.. panasonic added an extra feature into the fan that sync with panasonic's air-cond. so when u adjust your aircond temperature, the fan will adjust its speed too.

Added on September 1, 2008, 11:12 pmoh, btw according to Lilian Too, ceiling fan is bad feng-shui.

In FS, ceiling fan is a spinning demon. biggrin.gif Because it ontop your head it consider will make you stress, alot of thinking and you don't have rest mind.

You can have it at your hall but advise not in your bedroom. 8hr sleep under the ceiling fan, wakeup your mind also spinning. rclxub.gif Ha....

The KDK baby fan uses wall-plug instead of a hook. However I have plaster ceiling with a hook already in place, it would be pretty impossible not to use the hook.

Does KDK sell a baby fan that uses hook instead, or any manufacturer for that matter?

My electrician just installed 3 panasonic bayu5 and 3 alpha ceiling fans. 2 of the panasonic has "dancing" issues and needs rebalancing. All my Alphas are spinning smoothly. Cant comment on the remotes' durability yet. So far, Alpha bt Panasonic 3-1.

How's Panasonic's customer service when dealing with the wobbly spins btw?

As far as I know, KDK does not sell one to be used with hooks. I did had that problem earlier, thus I asked the reno guys to remove the hook, since it is just a small matter of unscrewing it from the plaster ceiling. However, if your hook is embedded into the concrete slab, you'll need to find someone to cut it.
The other option, is to get a shorter blade fan from KDK. Its called junior fan, and is only 48" in diameter, and needs a fan hook. However, they look 'old-fashioned' since they are regulator type of fan.
