Is there any ceiling fan that is shorter in the market? I have this lighting problem where the light is above the fan. Cause shadow blink. I cannot locate the fan as the mount is already fix.

Is there any solution for this?

This fan spec is good. Only run at 30watt with high air flow at 250m3. Lowest is 4watt. Not bad.

But price sweat.gif

Don't look at the rpm. Look at the airflow/air delivery and motor watt. Bigger number m3/min and lesser watt is the most efficiency fan. You want a strong air but use lesser power to run.

So far I see haiku fan is the most efficiency. But price not efficiency.

I have gotten 4 fans for my new place, 3 of them KDK and so far none have wobbling problems. The only regret I had was with the K15Y6 (5 blade) which i used for my master room. The noise it generates during the lowest speed is louder than my panasonic aircon, which makes sleeping tad bit difficult.
The best investment I made for the fans is the Haiku fan which I used for my dining area, I should have gotten one for the master room too (cost saving measure, now a bit regret).
*
How good is this Haiku fan? No sound? High air flow? Price?

Look like Panasonic Nami, that I have. But without Temp sensor.

For mine, installing is pain in the azz. All wobble got to call Panasonic came few time, replace few set and finally fix, it still wobble a bit If i switch to highest speed.

Look like panasonic cost down not so good. 1 day go in their factory and complain to the head. tongue.gif

Don't be worry lah. The ceiling fan won't chop off your head or hand.

Ceiling fan spin fast but no power or torque. You can put your hand up and stop it. It is design in this way for the safety.

Seems like besides Haiku, DC inverter motor fans could be the next trend. In SG, Amasco is selling models that use DC motor. Top speed only consumes 30W. That's about 2/3 less than AC motors do!
*
Very expensive wor. Haiku 1 already cost rm1k+. The saving cannot cover back the cost.

What about amasco? Selling here?

Ya, I know. Hopefully the trend will force local companies to consider green fans in their design range and push down the price as they become more competitive. Amasco only sold in SG but even the DC motor fans are quite pricey.

The only place where it'll be justified is in the living room assuming if turned on for at least 12 hours a day, large family household.
*
Even 12hr running for 10yrs still can't get back the cost. Assume you save 15w compare normal fan. That is 15wx12hrx365dx12yrsx0.334kw=rm267.

So got to wait many yrs to hope it reduce the price. sad.gif

tongue.gif still looking new? Such low ROI is not worth the price. Get the money into the bank for FD and get interest for safest bet. You will get a new fan within 12 years.

1 KDK fan - 290
1 Haiku Bamboo - 1200
Difference - 910

FD interest 3% per year, 900*0.03*12 = 328, assuming that you take out your interest every year. You get a new fan and you still get back that 900.
*
Of course don't look new. 14yrs old fan. But I got it free. He....

Hi

Anybody considered bladeless fan for bedroom instead ceiling fan?

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2029260/all

Do you think it is cost effective?
*
The air not cieculated wide enough for this kind of fan and it is noisy. The price is not cheap also.

Just brought a kdk K14Y9 5 blade for rm255. Change my old hall ceiling fan after some sound coming out. Take 4x to dismantle and assembly back the blade in combination. After it swinging too much.

Flow wind high and sound seems normal so far.

I like KDK fan designs. I like both K14Y9-MP and K14X8-GY designs the best.

May I know where can I buy these 2 models the cheapest? Top Ten Lightings?

My existing National fan (not sure the model) though silent; if I switch to maximum speed, the whole thing looks as if it is going to fall on me any time and cut my head off like Final Destination movie.  sad.gif

As weikee suggest, you need to balance the blade by switch each other the blade.

Just like me, I take 4x to switch the 5 blade around in order to get the good balance. Write down the number at the fan body and the blade. Than switch opposite each other. On/off the fan and check the result till satisfied.

Another problem is, the room size is too small for the big fan. The fan need over or equal 1meter from the surrounding each wall. The Stream of wind movement not steady and Air turbulence is created. This cause the fan wobble and noise. In this case, get a smaller diameter fan.

I prefer steel blade. The wind is stronger compared to abs blade.

Do material effect the strong airflow?
