I have relatively cramped space for ceiling fan and down lights.
What is the minimum distance between the edge of the spinning fan blade and the down lights to avoid the flickering lights effects?

QUOTE(weikee @ Aug 17 2011, 12:11 AM) You can use L box, so the plaster ceiling have two level, the lower level you put light, the higher level you can put the fan. That is my plan too. Usually fan blades ranges up to 54". Add in around 18" before the edge of the L box. Thus total 54" + 18" + 18" = 90"If use down light. That means the distance between down light will be at least 90" or 7.5'. Is it sufficient illumination? This post has been edited by phoenix69: Aug 17 2011, 12:18 AM |

QUOTE(alesi616 @ Aug 17 2011, 11:09 PM) For some of you that worry about downlight illumination brightness if you put downlight too close to wall. Hmmm... My area is 14' X 15' and I am planning 8 down light under the L box all around near to the edge / wall. Include cove light and a ceiling fan in the middle. Hope the illumination is sufficient either with the cove light only or down lights only switched on. My case: my living hall is 24ftx12ft rectangular, around the living hall i put 18-inch-width L-box, and there are 10 downlights (18Watt each) around the L-Box plaster ceiling. Each downlight is just ~9 inch from the wall (since my L-box only 18 inch width, downlight put in middle of it, so it is 9 inch) when i light up all 10 downlights, the brightness is just nice :-) on top of that I still have the L-Box cove light, but that one I plan to use LED strip light to create warm ambient effect (not for major lighting) 1 thing to note, if you are using downlight with glass, the brightness might dim a bit, so u might opt to put more downlights, or use double-bulb-downlight instread. |

QUOTE(lowlowc @ Dec 20 2011, 06:36 PM) Can I fit 6 ceiling fans into a myvi? I'm thinking to cash and carry but wonder if I can fit 6 ceiling fans at one go. Should be a tight fit but I think possible. Go alone use up the passenger space.I fit 6 fan to my City with the passenger seat taken up but then City can fold down the back seat. |

It seems that Puchong has the best shops for ceiling fan and lights. Especially the often mentioned TT
But for ceiling fan choices, the neighbor YT sumthing is the place. This post has been edited by phoenix69: Dec 27 2011, 11:24 PM |

QUOTE(leechers @ Feb 12 2012, 12:09 AM) Thanks for the advice. Actually 7.9ft is the lowest height out of all three rooms and living hall. No problem for living hall i think since it is more than 8ft. I am more concern about safety. And if i scretch up my hands i will definitely touch the fan since i am a tall person. Will think again on how to solve this problem. to put or not to put. Low Ceiling with big downlight.,,,, Added on February 12, 2012, 12:15 amJust to share out, just found out that the culprit of my low ceiling is because of 8 inch downlight. According to my uncle who did all those wirings, he chose 8inch because it will be easier for me to change bulb later on. Got much more low length downlight but will get a little tricky to change bulb for noob like me. Damn. He should consult me first before going with such setup. Anyway lesson learned. How is the effect?? |

QUOTE(luckykid5 @ Apr 29 2012, 11:42 PM) i like Deka brand, maybe because of the reverse function. but so far is it really good? i do know that ppl recommend use the reverse function when you open the air cond, so that the air will be suck up, instead of blowing down. I got the deka fan with reverse function.does it make the entire room better cooler ventilation? on the other hand, how is rubine fan as well? i saw quite a number of promotions out there. kdk and panasonic, been using since my family day. i guess will not buy this since i think it's slightly over price. willing to put my bet on some local brands instead. The function is more of keeping the air cond room air circulating instead of it being stagnant, You wont feel breeze when it is in reverse, If want local brand with a reverse function , I saw khind has a model somewhere on the net. An alternative. |

QUOTE(luckykid5 @ May 8 2012, 12:05 AM) so does it feel better air cond circulation with this reverse option? Air cond only in a room, the room air feels cold and stagnant cause very little circulation like in an ice box. In the morning I feel tired anyhow, khind vs deka, in your opinion, which is better? since both also local brands. So switch on ceiling fan together, room has more circulation with cool air. It feels nice, morning do not get tired. But after awhile start to worry get rheumatism,,, sooo put reverse spin on the ceiling fan. I feel less "wind" but the air is circulated thus do not feel tired in the morning and less worry on rheumatism, But after awhile throat starts to feel dry in the morning as air cond room is very dry, soo put in air moisturizer. Now feel cool, do not feel tired in the morning, no worry on rheumatism and air in room not dry anymore. I darn sensitive and picky one No experience on khind so no comment. |

What could be wrong?? After observing the fan and playing with the remote, now understand what is going on. Whenever the speed is changed e.g via remote, it gors klack once. When in Yuragi mode (Natural breeze) the speed changes randomly, so it goes klack klack klack randomly |
