Budget is around 400...actually im planning just to get the small water filter..you know the one that has size like a jug?using 1 filter.

Budget for RM400 is too low and not recommended. But Culligan brand are optional choice, is cheap and NSF certified. Long-run are slightly expensive.

Here is the link for it: http://www.lelong.com.my/culligan-ic-ez-4-...7-01-Sale-I.htm

RM399 for the whole filter but you have to DIY for installation.

I have a question here. Is RO water the best choice for drinking? This is because I heard a lot of people talking about it. Just curious..hehe..

RO is not the best choice for drinking.

It is not the cleanest, although they try to claim it is. Distilled water is the cleanest and purest.

When come to drinking water, we have to know the following:

Q1) it is clean enough, how clean is clean?
Q2) it is suitable for human to drink?

Answer:
Q1) Water should be free from heavy metal and VOCs, in this context RO water done a good job on heavy metal but fail short with VOC [Volatile Organic Compound], whilst also remove the beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Q2) Our blood pH is between 7.35-7.45; RO water without minerals will have a lower pH, hence our body need to adjust the water to around pH 7.35 before the water can enter our blood. To do this, our body will extract calcium from our bone, hence prolong consumption of RO water will cause calcium deficiency.

RO water however (as mentioned by chickytien) is used by dialysis patients, some kidney transplant patients can only drink distilled water.....those are people with special needs....not everyone is suitable to drink RO or distilled water.

Even WHO has a write up on telling people not to drink too much RO and distilled water.

Can't agree more than this. RO water filter salesman always told me that human can gain calcium through drinking milk or eating food, and they claim water of less calcium or any other minerals than the food/drinks we taken.

Yes, above statement is right but they forgot the our body need to neutralize everything before enter our blood/our own use. I asked him what was your PH value of your water, they told me slightly lower than 7, if I'm not mistaken, they told me is like between 6.5-7.0. This kind of stupid myth should be debunk many years ago.

I could say they selling/marketing skill are good and very informative too, normal consumer would easily fall into their talking as well, if didn't do/read the proper WHO claims.

"R" in RO stands for radioactive. So, no RO for me and my family.

Personally RO Water doesn't taste as good as mineralised water. I still prefer to filter and boil my water.
It depends on each individual's taste.

I could drink both boiled water like yours or filtered water only as well. But if the water didn't filtered but boilling only, I just couldn't stand the dull flavor of the water.

I need the documentation to show my uncle that mislead by salesman marketing talk. Now a days, really need some proven research to debunk all those stupid myth. shakehead.gif

It’s not high pH alkaline water we need, it’s water with high levels of ALKALINITY.

Well, as far as I know, as long the water have minerals in there, they will be above the PH balance, it even reach PH 8 above sometime.

pH is related to the hydrogen ions in water and stands for “potential of hydrogen.” Alkalinity is a measure of the capacity of water to neutralize acids. It measures the presence of carbon dioxide, bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide ions that are naturally present in water. At normal drinking water pH levels, bicarbonate, and carbonate are the main contributors to alkalinity.

Bicarbonate water is the healthiest water to drink. It is critical to see that alkalinity does not depend strictly on pH. pH measures the degree of alkalinity but not its quantity. It is like the relationship between temperature and heat.

Before we discuss about alkalinity, making sure that the water that we drink is filtered properly and the money that we spend on a water filter in order to get a proper filtration is more important. afterall, what we are talking about here is water FILTER. not medicated water, not healthy water.

Ive seen people demonstrating how alkaline water works (by using pH test strips). high pH = good water. low pH = bad water (harmful in fact according to some salesperson).

if you want alkalinity, slice some lemons and drop them into your warm filtered water. drink it. Having said that, getting all of the harmful impurities out of the water you drink will make a bigger difference than changing its alkalinity.

I would throw some salt into the water if the salesman demo the bad water it to me. Is magic, now everyone can have good water making at home! LOL laugh.gif

What you really need from negative ion or kaegen water essentially is Magnesium Bicarbonate which can be obtained by eating magnesium rich food (almond, spinach, pumpkin seeds, black beans) and drinking water mixed with baking sofa (bicarbonate). Magnesium is responsible for muscle relaxation and helps improve sleeps, and why Magnesium Bicarbonate? because it's the most digestible form. Our diets is too rich in Calcium (helps muscle contractions) and deficiency of Magnesium helps solve a lot of disease such as Alzemia, muscle problems (brain is a non generating muscle) and aging related problem.
