1. Some of the cards may say they charge you processing fees but in reality they will not. Free for life limits your scope a fair bit and I strongly suggest you to browse through the threads for the info. We had too many people asking for the shortcuts answers but we too actually took the initiative to track all these credit card promos. Do your homework ! icon_idea.gif
2. All banks can payonline or use GIRO.
3. AA cards are not free for life nor the Enrich card. (Enrich card best offer if you travel Business class) Petrol - Petronas, MPH - DA, Food outlets - so many lah!
4. Free gifts ... you just wait for fairs like MBB Treats, Matta Fair.

Conclusion - no single card fit all of your requirement. Do your research and decide what you want. (Don't be lazy to check)

What different between charge n credit card? Amex is all charge card is it?

I'm interest in Amex because it offer more privileges in dining. But I dont have so much info about this card. Why people seldom use it?

I think the other day when I was checking AMEX, one year fee for classic card is RM138. I rather use free card as Im using it for convinient and not to borrow money.

Who cares... my boss dun care much lar...
In fact his CC (AMEX, CIMB, PBB all Platinum) are so troublesome when buying AirAsia tickets. AMEX is the worst as not even supported. Other requires verification like mother maiden name which make him mad. I just took my Citibank, type in the numbers and straight through. Doesnt even need verification but I do feel a bit unsecure.

I think it's a security feature. Platinum card holders should be flying business/first class.

@Hybz,
I've no idea about HSBC Plat cards but 12k p/month x 12 = RM144k p/annum. If I'm not mistaken Citibank states on their application a min RM150k p/annum but most of us know U realli dun need to haf RM150k p/annum income to obtain the Citibank Platinum. At the v least, I know I'm still v far from that figure but am oredi using the Citibank Platinum card.

Citibank Shell is 2.5% petrol and 0.75% retail w/o carry forward balance. This is to fight against CIMB Petronas (and DA). What they don't tell you is your rebate is only credited if above RM20 (from some of the threads) and there is annual fee.. So how much do you pump to start making a gain??

Oh yah alot of Citibank offers are point based so Shell Citibank does not qualify.

HSBC Platinum requirement is RM 150k per annum and CitiBank is RM 100k per annum . i think now two highest requirement of plat card is Maybank and HSBC .

Other bank now has already decreased their eligibility to around 80k since year 2007. So basically now plat card is not that hard to obtain as in 90's .

I believe that AMEX Plat Charge Card is the card who really show you're loaded , as application are by invitation , too bad we dont have centurion here .. maybe malaysian not that loaded compare to other country

Can even get the platinum card with monthly salary < RM5000. I know citibank are very desperate to promote their cards, if someone has monthly transactions>RM2000 and pay on time, very likely he will be offered platinum card despite annual salary<100,000

Yeah, make a mistake on the retail purchase rebate.
Lets make simple calculation.
I spent around RM500 on petrol and RM500-1000 on other stuffs each month. Lets put it at RM500 and RM750, which adds up to RM1250 each month.

RM500 x 2.5% = RM12.50
RM750 x 0.75% = RM5.625

Take RM17 per month and over one year, around RM204.
Thats more than enough to cover for the annual fee + the RM2 each month for transferring from M2U.
Besides I always help my boss and company buy stuffs which helps me reach the average RM750 on others stuffs each month.
Maybe I should start paying bill online I think. I help my boss pay his bills one and always average RM700 per month or more if got quit rent.
So its kinda worth it if you calculate.

Not safe lar...
When using Citibank card to purchase online only need card number, expiry date and the 3 pin on the back of the card.
Not sure if Citibank having a deal with AirAsia which resulted in less hassling verification but I think at least need to verify IC like HSBC lor.

normally co branded card have lesser income requirement than generic card. I knew some of the co branded gold card have nonsense CL as low as 3k. Difference should be in term of benefit , like you'd have special discount or even more point when you spend on the brand specified. But as what i saw , normally they will charge you " GOLD ANNUAL FEE " too despise that incredibly low CL offer to you. Most bank practice that and one ridiculous example is MBF . vmad.gif
