It definitely played a role, not forgetting regular weight training.

They both relate quite alot.

@ bata

I agree on the pecs and lats. I haven't done any chest work for ages though. Just started to address my weak points recently.

Frankly, I am not in any cutting nor bulking phase. I'm just tweaking my routine little by little when I realize progress is slowing down.

no. Do you honestly think that you could just build a physique like that with JUST aquat, dl and bench? It was also with the addition of isolation exercises which you do in your journal, crossovers, direct arm work, etc. Train like a bodybuilder and you will look like a bodybuilder and those are bodybuilding exercises.

for me, that 3 big lift sure do add mass to our body..
but to tone and shape it, some isolation are needed..

Of course it will, it definitely will, but then one will look like a refrigerator. There was a pic of a well known powerlifter who dieted down till he was defined but when i asked Terry to comment, he said that if he were to compete in a bodybuilding competition with elite bodybuilders, he would come in the last few places.

The point is, the principle of specialization. If you want to look like a bodybuilder, train like one. You can look rather impressive doing powerlifting but physique wise, one won't look like a bodybuilder. Same thing, want to be as strong as a powerlifter, train like one. Training is goal oriented. Bodybuilding, powerlifting, crossfit (general fitness is still a specific goal), Oly lifts, etc.

Dear sprix,

I would suggest you bulk further. One requires substantial amount of muscle mass before cut. Bulking for 1 month isn't sufficient. Mind I suggest 3-4 months with loads of heavy compound exercises ~!!
