wearing belts is not about wether you're noob or not...it's all about what routine you're doing IMO...it's called weight belts for purpose...having said that, fooling around with it can cause severe injuries...so we should not mess with it...just my 2 cents tho
Bob Chick states that it keeps your gut in and your stomach tight. And yes it does. Remember, it depends on your goals. Powerlifting or bodybuilding. There's no clear cut answer.
