It's not exactly free cause if U don't use the card 2x a month, U'll be charged RM5 monthly. If U don't use the card for the entire year, U would have paid an annual fee of RM60

I'm still at present sticking with my Citi Plat but I oredi have sufficient points to redeem what I wanted so am looking to change banks

Yep you are right. So I just go to Watsons and buy some sweets and swipe my card TWICE cheapo to the max

It costs more to have to issue a cheque to make those payments. Anyhow, I wouldn't call this Free For Life! *grins* Again, another gimmick

FYI, I also applied additional MBB Petronas Visa in Apr 20th something. I went to MBB KL Main (menara maybank) to collect cheque book. Then pass by CC counter and fill up the form and submit. I ask them need any docs, IC, etc, they say no since I'm existing MBB.

Then again... as usual, no response for 1 mth, but my friend who applied in Early Apr got it 2 weeks ago. Earlier this week, I wrote to MBB (at M2u website) and got a response within 1 day (StanChart and Citi get back to me within 6 hrs using same website feedback) that they will look into it. The next day my new card is listed already on M2u. Now waiting delivery of the new CC

if we use our cc yesterday, does it suppose to show the usage on our online account within 24hours? 1st time used my cc yesterday but there are no records on my online acc till now.

Not necessarily. How fast it'll appear in your online account depends on how fast the merchant submits their claim to the bank. Some merchants do this on the same day or the next day and some takes many days before they make their claims.

After watched Citibank commercial on TV, it feels that it's a little misleading. The father wanted to use to buy a piano (I guess) for her daughter.

only if the cc terminal is from the same bank as your cc.

The 3-digit at the back of the card is more important.

Maybank CS usually asks either your CC number or your NRIC number.

Yes ... but do remember this number (CVV) functions as a verification tool. Don't be so easy to give to people who you don't know and always be certain of the website you are visiting to be genuine whenever it asks you for this number.

Not even the bank staff is suppose to ask you, so you can get suspicious if anyone claiming from the bank, etc is asking you for the CVV no.

I think it depends whether you already holding other credit cards.
For my case, when I got my CitiGold last year, my credit limit is $26k as I already owned DA Plat with $31k credit limit.

When I got my HSBC Gold back in 2001, they gave me $12k limit. They raised it to $15k 2 years letter when I asked them to increase my credit limit.

Not really recommended
Returned/cancelled your card nearing the ends of your annual fee period, and the bank will call you back offering free waiver.

HL offered me free waiver when I cancelled their Plat card and HSBC did the same thing when I cancelled their Gold card.

I just checked my MBB TPs at roughly 10am. No problem with that!
