what is the normal limit for a gold card cc?
*
I think it depends whether you already holding other credit cards.
For my case, when I got my CitiGold last year, my credit limit is $26k as I already owned DA Plat with $31k credit limit.

When I got my HSBC Gold back in 2001, they gave me $12k limit. They raised it to $15k 2 years letter when I asked them to increase my credit limit.

when the best time to call the bank for asking about annual fee waiver?

This method always work but very leceh...
Not really recommended shakehead.gif
Returned/cancelled your card nearing the ends of your annual fee period, and the bank will call you back offering free waiver.

HL offered me free waiver when I cancelled their Plat card and HSBC did the same thing when I cancelled their Gold card.

If you're not a citizen or PR, normally the mnimum income requirement is S$60k/annum. So best bet for you is to apply Singapore-based debit card.
DBS offers me Platinum AMEX and platinum Visa/MC after my annual income broke the $50k barrier a few yrs back but decided to continue using debit card and NETS biggrin.gif
You can also apply for a M'sia credit card but it's not worth to swipe your card in S'pore due to the non-favourable bank's exchange rate. Better chances of your application being approved if you have JB address.

For my case, HSBC gave me gold card when I applied for their CC back in 2000 when I just started working as they convert my monthly pay to RM. They also have no problem sending the CC statement and couriered the card to my S'pore address.
If you're a graduate, can always apply Direct Access as they have no problem sending my CC statement to S'pore and it's free (really FREE and no strings attached) unlike other so-called "FREE" annual fee (but read the small print whistling.gif ).
For Citibank, they can only issued me a CC if I use a JB address, so I used my friend's address in JB. But no problem with monthly statement as u can always apply for e-statement.

It's only for DA Master, not Visa.
If you don't need 2 cards, just get the MC.

My fren is using CIMB Petronas.
I think he only get 2% rebate when pump at Petronas biggrin.gif

If you've read some of the earlier posts, you'll notice that DA Mastercard only (not DA Visa) gives you 2% rebate for all petrol stations (anyway, those that accept CC lah tongue.gif ).

went thru the form for DA. find out there is no option to let us choose whether visa or master, just Platinum visa&master or Gold visa&master.

It's better to get master rite?
they will send you master at the first time application? or it's up to them either to send u visa or master?
*
I believed only their Master have the 2% petrol rebate.
If not mistaken, DA started with Master as well.
Only later did they offer the Visa.
