well, for optional paper, there not much difference which one is easier or tougher, the only thing is how much the topic that need to be covered. Between P4,P5 there have this drawback and benefit, for e.g, P5 question in exam is quite excessive mostly on question 1 where it provides every information from point 1-x..view pilot paper section A..compare to P4 the case/scenario is short, but more focus on calculation..however, P5 now much on theory and explain compare to 3.3 previously..P4 maintain the same as 3.7..where financial calculations and explanation is the main ingredients. icon_rolleyes.gif

hmm.. if like that.. do u think Adv Tax is better coz it's more focus on theory.. where as Adv Financial Mngt is mosly on calculation.. im thinking wanna take which paper.. very rclxub.gif

Tax u need lots of reading and application of coz in addition, practice..practice questions which same with all acca papers, just that tax u need to spend most of the time reading on the legislation and also the tax case law,the rational behind each of the case i.e similar to paper F4/2.2
if im not mistaken, few years back there is a question on 3.2 regarding the decision behind the case i.e Ketua pengarah Vs xxxx, so u need to justify why does the decision are taken also know the proper format way of calculating, so memorising the computation of each tax is essential, coz u have to follow the rule of calculating it,cannot use alternative or ur own way, which differs from P4 where calculation can be used in any way (except if they are to use i.e. Black Scholes model,CAPM) which u must derived to the correct answer. of coz both subject is cumbersome to learn, but depends on ur style, if u like bind by/follow rules...tax would be ideal or P4 if u are freestyle yet financial issues and deep understanding or each financing approach u should concern on, at the end of the day, regardless which paper u take in optional, the main point is that finish ACCA, the specialised thing can be worried later, which u will be taught or trained during work or experience based.. smile.gif

cause they have famous lecturers and they know students like us do not mind paying more for good lecturers. in short, Mc Orange is blood sucker! i think we should complain to ACCA Malaysia.
i think P1 is easier than P3 cause P3 syllabus is too wide. attend Low Chin Ann P1 lah!

Hi, I am new to accounting and I wish to get more info on this subject.

So far I studied until form 5 and I am thinking of getting LCCI first, then ACCA. May I know the requirements for these 2 courses? Am I qualified?

I already started working and I found college which offers part time LCCI. How about ACCA? And may I know how much does each complete course cost? And It would be nice if you can reckon me some good and affordable colleges around Klang Valley.
*
i would suggest u take CAT if u wan to do ACCA instead of LCCI...

hey guys.. between P6 Advanced Taxation and P4 Advanced Financial Management

wanna ask which paper is consider more useful and slightly easier?
*
I think P6 more useful as it does not only help u in exam but also real life...
there is no easier pass paper der..once upon a time,P4 under the old syllabus always has the lowest passing rate..i think this wont be any big diff even now it is put under option..
my advice is,don think which is easier to pass, think which option u interested..there is no easier paper to pass in my opinion..

actually i think adv fin mgt also not much calc, even tax also got calc, when u come to part 3 level, the key concept is learn and apply,so no matter which option, the principle is still the same..jus maybe adv fin mgt got core area to focus,as compare to tax,tax is all every way in the syllabus, maybe that make a bit difficult to prepare..but no doubt, useful paper...

Andrew Pang of KSA... pretty good, teaches both F5 & F9... seems to be understandable with the teaching style
perhaps otherwise Chow Kim Tai of FTMS, if not mistaken he's still there...

i used to attend his class for 2.3 also... as coolly said...he talk very fast but not to worry about that coz always got student remind him to talk slowly or repeat... other than that, i heard one of my fren said that he'll asked Q in the class to test ur knowledge... wat u know n wat u don't understand

yes..he is still in the panel marker for p6 n wat i heard from my fren is he is very close to richard thornton BUT whether those things will help u to pass or not.. i don't know.

i never attend andrew's class for F5 & F9, but i attended his P5 class..used to be 3.3, which is a paper which consist of half calculation n theory.. andrew's calculation not that bad.. but not theory coz when come to theory part, he'll asked u to go back n read urself.... so i'll recommend u to take chow kim tai's class.. unfortunately i just saw his name for P5 but i dun see his name in mcorange list for F5 or F9... actually other than them, there is Daniel Ho who is teaching F9 in ftms for this sitting... last time i used to attend his class for 2.4... his calculation is very easy to do especially for NPV.. the conclusion is his exam technique is two thumbs up but for F9 only.. for F5..i've no idea

ksa - viknes and dr.parmindar - no audit background........
ftms rclxub.gif new lecturer
segi - suppose to be F4 lecturer
