Ouch, kinda bummer without free 6 months

Just got my unifi mobile sim cancelled. So far no effect on my fibre plan.
Now must just wait for my prorated refund for the sim card, and wait for my new bill for fibre to confirm that everything is okay happy.gif
*
I also victim of the SWU 4.0 + Unifi mobile RM39
But after 3 months using and wanna cancel, i saw that there is this 6 months free - no contract offer by them (New user , port in user)

I try my luck and asked them and they approved me.
On Tuesday 27th May, i walked in and asked to terminate my unifi mobile but cannot on spot.
Must wait for retention team called which they called yesterday and offered me another 6 months free :\
However, my previous 6 months haven't finished, so the retention team asked me to call again next before ending.

I don't think so.
I was using SWU 1.0 until few days ago , that time don't even have free 6 months.
RM129/300mbps.
There was only 1 time free upgrade for me since beginning of the contract, so mine went from 300mbps to 500mbps.

My parents account is on SWU 2.0 with 6 months free.
Also RM129/300mbps
Same thing, only once upgraded from 300mbps to 500mbps.
This one contract expiring in Sept this year.

Must be some very old plan before SWU or special deal from 3rd party agent.

I think the Unifi Mobile mandatory bundle with SWU plan is a scam. It's just the TM Point branch want to meet their monthly subscription quota.
If you look at TM webpage. All postpaid Unifi Mobile plan have no contract. So they tell you 3 months subscription minimum is purely a way to hit the branch KPI.
What I think is, once your SWU plan order is completed and reflected in unifi selfcare portal, you can terminate the Unifi Mobile immediately.

Yeap should be for their KPI, doubt it's actually bundled in as it varies from no unifi mobile to 3 months.
However, for my case it wasn't much of an issue. They give me cheaper price; I let them reach their KPI.
Even cancelling can be done online. So win-win tongue.gif

Yeap, cancellation for now needs the retention team to call you first it seems.
They tried calling me in the morning, but I missed the called. After 15 mins I got an email stating my line was cancelled so... console.gif

139 with unifi tv?

But rm90 no free 6 months

Didn't ask about unifi tv, not sure. sweat.gif

500mbps
RM119 free 6mths (119 x 18 = 2,142)
RM90 no free 6mths (90 x 24 = 2,160)
Small difference (RM18?) so I'm ok either way. Problem is they kept saying best offer is RM139 free 6mths. ranting.gif

Well, the Astro fiber is still going to use UniFi in your case. So it makes no difference but TM will counter offer again once you have the transfer ID from Astro. So, you will still get RM 90 for 500Mbps eventually.
*
Thanks, just worried about their after sales service. Heard it's teruk, they will refer back to TM.

QUOTE(YoungMan @ May 29 2025, 02:53 PM)
Did you tell them "Astro offer you Rm90 for 500mbps? If you are existing Astro subscriber, you can sign up their fibre and get a transfer ID. With the transfer ID, burgain with TM for the same offer.
No. The most they can ask is to see if you have actual transfer ID from Astro fibre.
*
Thanks, that will be the next step if all else fails.

Yes, you need to refer back to TM, but if you haven't had any issues with UniFi, you shouldn't have any issues with Astro either. I am using Maxis for my own house and riding on UniFi infrastructure too; I have never faced any outages that required their technicians to come over. Third year already.

I requested termination for unifi mobile yesterday. They called today's noon, and they offered 6 months free mobile plan to keep using unifi mobile.Bill will charged on 7th month onwards.

I rejected them anyway, cause I don't want have any hassle afterwards.

Not a big deal. In long term your plan still cheaper compare to those who paid 139 or 119 for 500mbps. The ISP router not that great also, it is bettter to buy your own router to enjoy the 500mbps connection.

RM90 for 500mbps quite good the offer.
I wondering after got the Transfer ID when sign up with AStro Fibre. How the transfer of Broadband from Unifi to Astro works ?
If it happened that before i got the counter offer from Unifi, the transaction with Astro Fibre already successful. Status maybe show waiting for installer come to my house.

With this, i will have 2 broadband account with me. Oh No......

It will not happen until UniFi calls you to confirm if you are changing ISP. Without your consent, it will not be approved. During the call, they will counter offer you.

Giving up already. Went to TMPoint at Menara TM, said the same thing, SWU 5.0 - 500mbps at RM139 free 6mths.
Asked why so many others getting 500mbps at RM90, they kept asking for proof, give account # to verify.

Probably need to switch to Astro already. How good/bad is Astro fibre?  cry.gif
*
Just terminate online via unifi selfcare portal. 2-3 days later will receive call from Unifi HQ, asking why you terminate. Then told her you plan to switch to Astro Fiber 500Mbps RM90. She will directly counter offer you with SWU5.0. No need bundle or postpaid add on. Simple as that. Don't waste your time at unifi office.

Mine from SWU2.0 500Mbps RM129 (Free 6 Months), succesfully migrated to SWU5.0 500Mbps RM90, with 1 week contract remaining. Not necessarily need to 'upgrade'.

If you are SWU3.0, jumping to SWU5.0 is like you get another round of SWU3.0 (RM119 free 6 months). Way better than you just staying with SWU3.0, paying RM119 for the rest of the time.
