Both units cannot turn on. I am now using the allinone router DLINk and manage to setup successfully. Not sure if I can get another Modem replacement from UNIFI as backup. And also now I have to replacement my Xiaomi AX3600 that working perfectly all ths while.
*
Unifi modem is not meant as backup. If you have existing working modem just use it. As for router, yes you can surely get free from them with 2 years contract.

The 1 they gave me for 1G speed is the DLINK Router Modem. I temporary replaced both my Huawei modem and Xiaomi router with this 1.

I don't think TM will replace standalone modem. Maybe ONR as a replacement.

Will update again when the technician come ths Tuesday. Thanks again for your advice. I am currently on the SWU with 1Gb speed for 24 months. That is the reason I don't prefer to renew 2 years contract as I may paying premium without the speed upgrade after 2 years.

What happens to your 500Mbps plan after the 2 year contract is over? Still maintain at 90?

Which branch did you go to for this offer of plan 3?
*
If I'm not mistaken, it's perpetual. However, this won't matter much to me as in another ~1.5 years I'd just walk back and ask for another promo hehe.

Small sharing on my experience with SWU5.0 RM90 plan
1. Speedtest no longer burst at the beginning, last time can get around 525Mbps down when completed, now around 490Mbps
2. The IPv4v remained public, probably the cheapest fibre internet plan in Malaysia now with public IPv4.

Nevertheless, no regret, paying 30% lesser with 5% lesser speed. Annual saving is about RM500 compared to my previous plan (RM129 500Mbps)

Most likely you get all in one ONU plus router this time.
But what you can do is ask technician to configure as bridge mode, then use your own router.

So what you did? You call customer service and tell them you want to terminate Unifi because you want to switch to Astro Fibre 500Mbps RM90, or how?

Just went to TMPoint Cyberjaya this morning with 3.5 months contract left.

Told the lady I wanna upgrade package for SWU unifi 500Mbps RM90. No questions asked. The lady is so kind that she introduce available options and asked me which offer I want.

The only downside is I had to bundle unifi mobile SIM card RM39 for 2 months, no contract for the SIM card, can terminate after 2 months.

Overall it's still ok for me cause after all the maths, I still save around RM 20+ consider after my contract ends.

The end.

Just visit Unifi Store and told that I got offer from Astro agent about that 500Mbps plan and sincerely ask if they could offer any competitive package as what I was paying is quite high (RM129)

Probably due to my contract was finished during last month, or due to her kindness (may God bless her), I have not asked to sign up with unifi mobile line.

However, today I did get called from another Unifi agent, saying that "congratulations" I managed to get a Galaxy A16 for free, but I need to sign up a Unifi Postpaid plan RM69. At the end, I rejected her as my current prepaid plan cost only RM25 and it is way more than enough for me

Hi Sifus,
Question, if I use the DLINK as modem and (pppoe set at modem) router and connect LAN as AP to my own router for mesh compare to use DLINK as Modem only and set PPPOE at my own router. What are the pros n cons. Thanks.

When I took the offer of RM 90 for 500Mbps, TM changed a new router for me too, but we have been using our own router since day 1. The guy still came and checked. He said our router is better, so he didn't proceed to configure it and just asked us to keep it.
*
what router are you using?

QUOTE(totally_skint @ May 23 2025, 06:14 PM)
A couple of years back (I think SWU 3.0 then) it was the same, need to take Unifi Mobile too.
However several forumers here said can cancel after a week and get back subscription (pro-rated) for the first month.

interesting..

You get public IP or private IP from Unifi ?

What's the difference between private and public IP?

QUOTE(YoungMan @ May 23 2025, 07:45 PM)
Just buy your own router. ISP router not that great anyway.

QUOTE(tng55 @ May 23 2025, 09:33 PM)
why you don't buy you own router you still prefer crap router TM ?
you can buy tp link ax enough will support 100mbps
take la 100Mbps RM79 tm wont change router get you own router settle

you prefer cheaper then RM79

someone 500Mbps RM90 without free bill 6month already cheap
