That case, she was paying RM129 for 500mbps + ultimate pack + disney?

Seriously? So cheap!

Mine is RM99 for 300mbps without any tv package.

Yes, that's right. I think you were referring to me, all the above and with free 600 minutes too, since 2018. laugh.gif

Anyway, now accepted the offer of RM 90 for 500Mbps with free 600 minutes and one-year Disney Hotstar but no more UniFi TV. We don't mind because we don't watch UniFi TV. Always on Astro, Netflix and YouTube.

As mentioned earlier in the previous thread, I wanted to switch to Astro Fiber (500Mbps for RM 90) but was counter-offered by UniFi.

Currently paying RM 129 for 500Mbps+Ultimate+Free 600 minutes.

Counter-offer:
RM 90 for 500Mbps with a 2-year contract, and the price is perpetual, so after two years, it will be the same RM 90. It will still maintain free 600 minutes, but no more UniFi TV. It also comes with a one-year free Disney Hotstar+. Free router upgrade as well.

Already accepted the offer to stay with UniFi.

Yeah, it was a mistake. My sister misheard the UniFi TV part. I spoke to them to understand further when they called back.
No free 6 months unless it is RM 139 after 6 months. So no thanks.

Yeah, it is good now. I mean, I didn't expect they would match Astro's RM 90. We were looking forward to the change to Astro already, then this happened. tongue.gif

I had a transfer ID because I was taking the Astro fiber plan together with my Astro TV, then UniFi called to counter offer. That's how it happened.

Looks like no CGNAT. If CGNAT, your router WAN should show 100.64.0.0/10.

Now showing same IP address at Speedtest and router page. As per instructions here but Speedtest instead of ipchicken:

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ May 1 2025, 10:49 PM)
First, check your WAN IP address as seen on the Internet on ipchicken.com.
Then, log into your router and check your WAN IP address as displayed in the router settings page, if it matches with the WAN IP address above, all good. If it is 100.x.x.x, then you’re CGNAT-ed.

Yours picture show no CGNAT by TM.
Double NAT is on your own network.

Luckily, CGNAT has not yet been confirmed for plans above 500Mbps. Otherwise, we can foresee serious lag issues on the unifi network the moment CGNAT is implemented.

Most heavy users are likely on the 1Gbps or 2Gbps plans, so when the time comes, it’s very likely that networks in some states will suffer from heavy nighttime congestion.

Unless TM deploys more CGNAT gateways to handle the additional load, the performance impact could be significant.

How do you guys usually do to get Unifi to "counter offer" you with a better deal if you want to threaten to terminate and jump ship to other ISP?

I am happy with them so far, my contract has ended and I wanted to downgrade to the most basic package since it is for my parent's place and they don't use up the 500Mbps (RM139/month) and I have already moved out from their place.

I get the part that RM89 for 100Mbps maybe for new customers (24months contract). I am fine with paying RM99 for 100Mbps but I don't get why I am hit with another 24months contract when I did not benefit from their "promo" of RM89/month.

How do you guys talk to them to make them try to counter-offer? Talk to them on the phone? Livechat? Visit TMpoint?

1. visit Tmpoint and nego for SWU plan.
2. try to get a transfer ID to port out to other provider, example Astro broadband. Usually Tm will try to counter offer, and you can nego the price.
3. Request for termination through online, and wait for them to call up for counter offer.
Regardless which method you choose, once you accept any offer you'll be recontract for another 24 months.

is it worth jumping ship from unifi to time? recently time come install their fiber at my apartment. Am now paying SWU rm200 for unifi 1gbps and see time offer 600mbps first 6 month rm99 and rm139 7 month onwards.

my bro and his wife will move out soon to their new house nov this year and my contract will also finish around at the same month. or is any of the upcoming swu will be cheaper? thinking of downgrading too since am no longer have time to gaming so no need faster speed to download huge files. also would like to know if time will be more stable during the night (7pm - 1am), unifi can throttle quite heavily and even youtube become very slow during night at my area.

Some comparison reviews here for unifi vs time.

For gaming yes dl matters for downloading game r.g. battlenet, steam because not always people buy physical discs, it's all on the dev game platform to download. Or like game patches.

But more often latency is the most often felt feature. So fiber broadband and good routing helps for this for low latency gaming.

So based on that, I went with cheapest, for me was 100 Mbps unifi. When I compare to faster download speeds, just mean have to wait longer for download to complete. But for latency this has no issue. So that's how I should look at it as a gamer.
