QUOTE(Reventon @ Apr 2 2009, 08:26 PM) I dont think you can waive the annual fee by spending 2k during the first month. For me , i've spend more than 15k in the first month , before end of 2nd month i already hit 25k ( for the longines watch That means there is no way we can get annual fee waived for plat cc?I think the promoter are not really honest, maybe desperate to get customer to sign up for the card. This is from my own experience on the annual fee waiver part. Maybe some other holders can confirm this fact? |

At the moment, Annual Fee for platinum series from Amex cannot be waived. However for 1st year AF maybe free provided you are being invited by Amex. That information is from RockIron, he gets Amex Plat Charge and Credit Card 1st year AF waived.

I am wondering too whether the plat series AF from amex really unwaivable , but then with the competitive market offering waiver, i think sooner or later it will happen.

Amex plat charge card been here for quite a while already but still stay firm on no fee waiver. I hope it will change one day anyway. |

@rockefeller, Amex Platinum Credit Card services are great?! Er... I don't really find them exceptional. Amex Platinum Credit Card services are nothing exceptionl. It is the Amex Platinum Charge Card services which I meant. Just superb. It saved me more than 3 occasions. Hence, the hefty annual fee. |

That's only applicable for a few selected merchants, which most credit cards also offer from time to time. |

amex cs is 24 hours, but seems the number only at the back of plat card. Green and gold card only provide office hour number. Anyway you can call up the plat cs for your enquiry regardless card type.

I got this in my email, wanted to know if there's a list of participating partners, and it took a bit of navigating within MBB2U's site to look for the details and exact T&Cs:
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p.../PRO-Promotions Still no list, and couldn't be bothered to contact the CS. But good promo to encourage card usage. |

Quick question, why does one choose AMEX over credit cards, considering it's not so widely accepted in M'sia?
Sorry if this is a silly question,don't know too much bout AMEX. |

@rockefeller,
Mind sharing what happened and how the Platinum Charge card saved U?! @vianc, 10X points are only available at selected outlet and they really aren't places I make lots of purchase from. As to it being the only card offering 10x bonus points; well, perhaps that's because it's annual fee is a whopping RM800 ! @David83, Amex members refer only to Amex Membership Reward points and not MBB TPs! |

I called MBB CS today and they said that the 8x is applicable in such way:
If your AMEX is a charge card, you'll be rewarded 8x AMEX points (MR I guess) for each RM 1 swiped. If your AMEX is a credit card, you'll be awarded 8x TP for each RM 1 swiped. Anybody can do any confirmation? |
