mine is still pending, hope it will approved...but they took quite sometime to process as i hand it the application on 15 dec,but receive on 26 dec

So far the Amex processing is the slowest among all the card i've encountered before. The first Amex gold took roughly 6 weeks for processing and another week to reach my hand so does my Amex Plat CC.

I know it's by invitation, dat's y ask how to get invitation from them for this Amex plat charge card?
I know the AF is RM2380 but it's ok coz want to have a try for this card.

For Amex cc I already have it by invitation from Maybank. They waived the 1st year AF for me as well.

Amex Platinum Charge invitation usually for their Gold Charge membership ( at least 1 year old ), usage RM80k above per annum will let you get " invited " . If you are eager to get their attention, after you hit the criteria above, you can straight away call up their platinum hotline and ask for an upgrade. What i mean above is all Charge Card, no Credit Card involved brows.gif , However they may have exception that they send an invitation straight away to you without having their gold card first. Maybe your loaded premier banking account, high spending cc history. thumbup.gif , Amex Plat Charge is gateway to Centurion too ! ( Maybe one day when the black card hit our shore )

Hi Reventon,
Thanks for the info.
RM80k spending a year is not difficult to hit. If manage to hit it within 6 month, then can ask for it rite? brows.gif
Again, thanks for your info brother........ biggrin.gif

I think should not be a problem, if you can hit within 6 month is preferable , anyway Amex Charge would like you to charge more, many out there spends alot but refuse to upgrade to platinum because of that 2k membership fee. Many can afford that fee but it just that most of them feel they do not need the benefits and prefer to stick with their green/gold membership. Wish you good luck bro thumbup.gif

Tqvm for ur remind bro.
But already charged arround 70k, still they didn't send me the watch. hmm.gif
How long u received ur's after hit the 20k spending???
*
i hit the 20k in the first month , but they send the watch 3 months later, that is because i make a call to their CS and ask them about the watch and they said normally they will only send it out after 6 months but since i have reach the spending earlier than the due , they arrange it faster but also took for more than 3 months doh.gif . You can try to call up their CS and ask about this.

tinkerbel,
they mailed you the redemption letter instead of the physical watch? I've got the watch courier to me.

i reside in kl , but it does save me lots of time by sending me the watch directly. Not really a nice watch to be frank. Haha.

it calls Centurion Card, also known as Black Card. Heard can use it to swipe a airplane.  drool.gif  thumbup.gif  rclxms.gif

In the United States, stated requirements to become a card holder included minimum spending of $250,000 in a 12 month period, and exceptional credit history. The annual fee in the United States was $2,500, with a one-time $5,000 initiation fee for the first year.

A legendary black card , but using it to buy something extraordinary like plane, building , chopper or titanic are vary depend on personal credibility, although AMEX practise no-preset-limit on their charge card series. Hope this black card will hit our shore in near future. icon_idea.gif

but it's definately way above platinum visa / master which is like cheap plastic nowadays. But malaysian still left behind in term of spending power, even Amex charge plat is by invitation now, so far i think amex charge plat is still exclusive, with the unwaivable AF, not much willing to pay for it even for malaysian multi millionaire.
Something to add,
my Amex plat Cc annual fee is RM 66.66, not the actual RM 800, don't ask me why, i don't know why, and i will not ask the bank why too, tongue.gif .

I was in midvalley last week. The maybank cc promoter kept asking me to apply for AMEX platinum cc, annual RM800 can be waived by spending 2k during the 1st month, and she told me that a lot of new card holders got the annual fee waived with this method. Not sure whether it's true or not?
*
I dont think you can waive the annual fee by spending 2k during the first month. For me , i've spend more than 15k in the first month , before end of 2nd month i already hit 25k ( for the longines watch icon_rolleyes.gif ) , amex finally charged the annual fee into my account at the 3rd month. As usual i call in for the waiver like i did for my amex gold charge card but this time i was being denied as they told me Platinum Series annual fee will not be waived no matter how much i have spend.
I think the promoter are not really honest, maybe desperate to get customer to sign up for the card. This is from my own experience on the annual fee waiver part. Maybe some other holders can confirm this fact?

At the moment, Annual Fee for platinum series from Amex cannot be waived. However for 1st year AF maybe free provided you are being invited by Amex. That information is from RockIron, he gets Amex Plat Charge and Credit Card 1st year AF waived.

I am wondering too whether the plat series AF from amex really unwaivable , but then with the competitive market offering waiver, i think sooner or later it will happen.

amex cs is 24 hours, but seems the number only at the back of plat card. Green and gold card only provide office hour number. Anyway you can call up the plat cs for your enquiry regardless card type.

Amex Plat CC is MR , not treatspoint.

The strange thing is if you have a Maybank2u.com account , the point of Amex Plat CC will shown as TP , thus adding up with saving/current account , visa and master TP . This is the confusing part of the point. However i have confirm this as i exchanged some voucher at sony style @ klcc , TP and MR can be used over there but its two different things. That means i can use TP for my visa and master, and MR for my Amex Plat CC

this is where the confusing part comes. M2u also show my amex plat points are combined with visa and master. But when the time i do redemption, it's totally seperated. Visa master is TP , Amex is MR. I've just did a redemption at Sony Style. Confirmed.

i've called up the mbb cs and amex cs several times to confirm and they can't confirm it too. I guess amex ( regardless what type ) falls under MR and visa / master TP.
Both has different catalogue and redemption points.

hm... i do not hold any maybank branded amex, at first i thought that amex plat cc is TP because i see my points calculated in m2u are categorized as TP . Its show a grand total combined TP too.
But Sony Style system shown is MR for my amex.. vmad.gif
MBB should have show the point clearly categorized and not confusing
